White Sox catching coordinator Julio Mosquera said Jimenez (hamstring) took batting practice Tuesday and is expected to resume his rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, Jonathan Lee of SouthSideSox.com reports.

During his first rehab game with Charlotte on Saturday, Jimenez tweaked his surgically repaired right hamstring, but he was apparently able to steer clear of a major setback. After resting the past two days, Jimenez resumed baseball activities Tuesday, and assuming his hamstring checked out fine following the workout, he'll be back in the Charlotte lineup Wednesday and Thursday as a designated hitter. The White Sox may want to see Jimenez make a start or two in the outfield during the rehab assignment before bringing him back from the 10-day injured list.

Stanton (ankle) took batting practice Tuesday and also took part in a light running workout, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Stanton resumed hitting a few days ago, but his ability to start a running program marks an important milestone in his recovery from right ankle inflammation. The slugger said he's encouraged by his progress and plans to ramp up his running program through the end of the week. The Yankees will likely reassess Stanton over the weekend before deciding if he's ready to return from the 10-day injured list or if he'll require a brief minor-league rehab assignment beforehand.

Choi is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Lefty Martin Perez is on the hill for the Rangers, so the lefty-hitting Choi unsurprisingly finds himself on the bench due to the unfavorable matchup. The righty-hitting Harold Ramirez replaces Choi at first base.

Cabrera is out of the lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Twins.

Before serving as the Tigers' designated hitter while going 1-for-4 with a run in an 8-2 loss in Game 1, Cabrera had missed the team's previous two contests with lower-back tightness. Cabrera avoided any setbacks in the afternoon game, but the Tigers never intended to have him play both ends of the twin bill coming off the injury. Jonathan Schoop will fill in for him in the nightcap as the Tigers' DH.

Lewis, who is out of the lineup Tuesday in Baltimore, is dealing with some concussion-like symptoms, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Lewis was struck in the shoulder by a pitch Saturday and had the ball ricochet and hit him in the head, and he's now being evaluated for concussion-like symptoms. The 26-year-old will be placed on the 7-day injured list if he's unable to pass the league's concussion protocol.

Lewis (knee) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Baltimore.

Lewis was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Astros, with manager Scott Servais relaying afterward that the Mariners were playing the "long game" with the 26-year-old, who underwent knee surgery last June, per the Associated Press. Servais suggested that Lewis' absence Sunday was due to a desire not to have him play three days in a row, but with Lewis still on the bench after Monday's off day, it's worth wondering if he may have suffered a setback. Whatever the case, Jesse Winker will serve as the Mariners' designated hitter while Lewis is on the bench for the second game in a row.

Cabrera (back) will start at designated hitter and bat third for the Tigers in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Twins.

He rejoins the lineup after sitting out Detroit's previous two games with lower-back tightness. Though his inclusion in the starting nine suggests that his back is no longer much of a concern, the 39-year-old could be a candidate to sit in the second game of the twin bill as the Tigers aim to keep him fresh.

Alvarez went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Monday's 5-1 win over the Athletics.

Alvarez took Paul Blackburn deep in the first inning to give the Astros an early 1-0 lead before later launching another solo shot in the eighth frame off A.J. Puk. He now has 14 homers on the season and the two long balls ended a 10-game homerless streak for the slugger. Alvarez has notched three multi-hit games over his last four contests, raising his batting average from .246 to .260 over that stretch.

Miller (hip) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Miller was removed from Sunday's game against Oakland due to right hip tightness, and the issue is apparently significant enough to prompt a trip to the injured list. Eli White should see additional playing time in Miller's absence, while the Rangers selected Josh Smith's contract as part of a corresponding move.

Buxton is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game versus the Tigers, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Buxton will get a breather after starting two straight games, going 2-for-8 with a double and a run scored. Nick Gordon is starting in center field and batting eighth in the contest.
