Joe Mack C | MIA
Marlins' Joe Mack: Hitless in MLB debut
Mack went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Monday's loss to the Phillies.
Making his big-league debut and batting seventh, Mack was fanned by Aaron Nola in the fifth inning, between a groundout and a pop-up in foul territory. On the bright side, the rookie catcher guided Janson Junk to a strong outing in a 1-0 loss, and it's his defensive work rather than his bat that the Marlins are counting on to be an upgrade over Agustin Ramirez. While he'll split time behind the plate with Liam Hicks, Mack will get a long runway to establish himself at the top level after slashing .251/.336/.447 over 122 career games in Triple-A with 21 homers.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Hitless in season debut
Murphy went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Monday's loss to the Mariners.
Getting the start behind the plate and batting seventh while Drake Baldwin hit leadoff as the designated hitter, Murphy looked rusty in his first action of the season for Atlanta. Murphy missed the first five-plus weeks of the campaign while completing his recovery from hip surgery, but the veteran backstop should see semi-regular duty whenever Baldwin gets deployed at DH. Murphy slugged 16 home runs over 94 games in 2025, but that production came with a .199/.300/.409 slash line.

Drake Baldwin C | ATL
Braves' Drake Baldwin: Another long ball Monday
Baldwin went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Mariners.
The slugging catcher led off the game with his ninth homer of the season, as he launched a Logan Gilbert slider 426 feet to right-center field. It was Baldwin's first start as the leadoff hitter for Atlanta, but it likely won't be his last as the team looks to replace Ronald Acuna (hamstring) in the short term. Over the last 20 games, Baldwin is slashing a sizzling .321/.409/.506 with four long balls, 13 RBI and 18 runs.

David Fry RF | CLE
Guardians' David Fry: Provides early, only offense
Fry served as the designated hitter and went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Royals.
Fry put Cleveland on the board early with a two-run homer in the second inning, but that's all the team could do against Kansas City pitching. It was Fry's third time going deep in his last six games. He doesn't get nearly the number of opportunities as others on the team, but Fry is second on the Guardians with an .892 OPS over 51 plate appearances.

Ivan Herrera DH | STL
Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Drives in three runs Monday
Herrera went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Monday's 6-3 win over the Brewers.
Herrera delivered a key swing for the Cardinals, drilling a bases-clearing double with the bases loaded in the fourth inning to give his team an early 4-0 advantage. The 25-year-old has logged multiple hits in three of his past six appearances and has been a steady on-base threat in 2026, slashing .256/.416/.424 with four homers, nine doubles, 17 RBI, 21 runs and a stolen base across 35 games.

Yainer Diaz C | HOU
Astros' Yainer Diaz: Will require IL stint
Diaz is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to a left oblique injury, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Diaz was scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Monday's 8-3 loss to the Dodgers due to what had been referred to as a left abdominal injury, but Astros manager Joe Espada clarified after the game that the backstop will miss some time due to an oblique issue. Christian Vazquez can be expected to serve as the primary catcher while Diaz recovers.

Shea Langeliers C | ATH
Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Lands on paternity list
Langeliers was placed on the paternity list Monday.
Langeliers was away from the team for Sunday's matchup and will now miss the next 1-to-3 days after being placed on the paternity list. Austin Wynns is expected to handle the catching duties until Langeliers returns, though the Athletics also landed Jonah Heim in a trade from Atlanta on Monday, so Heim could factor into the mix if he's elevated to the big-league roster.
-
Jonah Heim C | ATH
Athletics' Jonah Heim: Dealt to Athletics
The Athletics acquired Heim from Atlanta on Monday in exchange for cash considerations, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Heim was designated for assignment by Atlanta earlier in the day Monday, but instead of sending the veteran backstop to the waiver wire, the club was able to work out a deal with the Athletics. The 30-year-old backstop slashed .231/.311/.410 with one home run, eight RBI and four runs scored in 12 games for Atlanta before being booted from the 40-man roster.
-
Patrick Bailey C | CLE
Giants' Patrick Bailey: Sitting Monday
Bailey is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Padres on Monday.
Bailey will ride the pine for a second consecutive game, only this time it'll be Jesus Rodriguez who will serve behind home plate and bat eighth in his major-league debut. Bailey has slashed .159/.221/.206 with two steals, one home run, four RBI and a 5:16 BB:K across 68 plate appearances since April 1.

Cesar Salazar C | HOU
Astros' Cesar Salazar: Back in big leagues
Salazar had his contract selected from Triple-A Sugar Land before Monday's game against the Dodgers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Salazar was promoted a few hours before first pitch after it was announced that Yainer Diaz was scratched with an abdominal injury. Salazar will serve as the backup catcher to Christian Vazquez on Monday.
