  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Braves' Sean Murphy: Sitting out matinee

Murphy is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Colorado.

After catching each of the first two games of the series, Murphy will begin Wednesday's finale on the bench. Drake Baldwin is behind the dish and batting seventh as Atlanta goes for the sweep.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Getting day off

Smith is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Marlins, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Smith caught both of the first two games of the series, so he'll get a breather in Wednesday's finale. Austin Barnes will start behind the plate and bat ninth Wednesday as the Dodgers try to complete the sweep.

  • Tigers' Dillon Dingler: Resting up Wednesday

Dingler is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Dingler will get a breather for the Wednesday afternoon game after he had started behind the plate each of the previous three days. Tomas Nido will handle catching duties for the Tigers in the series finale.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Receiving day off

Diaz is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Diaz started at catcher in each of the previous four contests, so he'll get a breather for Wednesday's matinee. Victor Caratini is behind the dish and batting fifth for the Astros.

  • Ivan Herrera C | STL

Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Cleared for rehab assignment

Herrera (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on Thursday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Herrera is slated to serve as Memphis' designated hitter for five innings Thursday and then catch for them Friday. The Cardinals haven't revealed how many rehab games Herrera will play, but a return from the 10-day injured list sometime next week seems likely as long as he doesn't suffered any setbacks. Herrera has been shelved since early April with a left knee bone bruise.

  • Brewers' William Contreras: Swipes bag Tuesday

Contreras went 1-for-3 with two walks, a steal, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.

Contreras had an RBI single in the sixth to knot the game at two apiece and extend his hit streak to eight games. He's had at least one hit in all but one game in which he's appeared since April 5. His early power numbers are down from previous seasons, but he's posted a career-high walk rate and career-low strikeout rate over the first month and he's well on pace to reach double-digit steals for the first time after swiping his fourth bag Tuesday.

  • Pedro Pages C | STL

Cardinals' Pedro Pages: Taking seat in first game

Pages is not in the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Reds.

Yohel Pozo is doing the catching and batting eighth for the Cardinals. Pages should be back behind the dish for the nightcap.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Pops eighth homer

O'Hoppe went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Mariners.

The slugging backstop got the Halos on the board when he took Carlos Vargas deep in the seventh inning. O'Hoppe is up to eight homers on the season, including three in the last five games, but those are his only hits over that stretch. On the season, he's slashing .259/.292/.553 with 11 runs and 13 RBI in 24 contests.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Homers in win

Naylor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Minnesota.

Several innings before Kyle Manzardo's homer walked off the Twins, Naylor gave the Guardians an early 1-0 lead in the third inning. It was the third home run in 20 games for the catcher, who's batting .185 with a .634 OPS. After taking over as the primary catcher in 2024, Naylor's offense took a hit and that has continued into the first part of 2025.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Tallies three RBI in win

Diaz went 2-for-4 with three RBI in Tuesday's win over Detroit.

Despite not recording an extra-base hit, Diaz tallied three RBI on Tuesday. The 26-year-old backstop has endured a sluggish start to the campaign overall, but he's fared better at the plate of late. Diaz is batting .270 (10-for-37) with one home run, one double, six RBI and five runs scored over his last 10 games, and he has at least one knock in six of his last seven outings.
