The Tigers selected Haase's contract from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.

Detroit will call up its second catcher from Toledo in less than a week after Grayson Greiner (hamstring) joined Wilson Ramos (back) on the 10-day injured list. Ramos will likely be activated from the IL when first eligible May 17, so Haase is expected to serve as the No. 2 option at catcher behind Jake Rogers for the Tigers' next five games before heading back to Toledo.

Hedges isn't starting Wednesday against the Cubs.

Hedges went 2-for-8 with a run, an RBI and two strikeouts while starting each of the last three games. Rene Rivera will start behind the dish and bat eighth.

McNeil isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

McNeil has gone 1-for-13 with a run and seven strikeouts across the last four games. Tomas Nido will start at catcher and bat eighth.

Stallings is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Stallings will be receiving a routine breather for the day game after the night game. No. 2 catcher Michael Perez will fill in for Stallings and bat eighth.

Barnhart is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

The Reds are wrapping up their series in Pittsburgh with a day game, so Barnhart will be receiving a routine breather after he started behind the plate in the first two games of the series. Tyler Stephenson will catch Sonny Gray on Wednesday.

Heim started a second consecutive game Tuesday in place of Jose Trevino (triceps). He went 0-for-3 in a 4-2 loss to the Giants.

Manager Chris Woodward told Justice delos Santos of MLB.com that he would have used Trevino on Monday if that game was necessary and was prepared to use him Tuesday if needed. That scenario could have been tested as Adolis Garcia pinch hit for Heim in the ninth inning, but the game ended there. The Rangers revealed that Trevino was dealing with a sore triceps Tuesday, and the hope is that two days off, coupled with a team off day Wednesday, gets him at full strength for Thursday's series opener at Houston.

Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Rays.

Sanchez did not have a good night at the plate, as he struck out twice and grounded into an inning-ending 5-4-3 double play, but he did launch his fourth home run of the year on an opposite-field solo shot to right. The 28-year-old is slashing just .178/.333/.356 with four home runs, six RBI and 10 runs scored on the year. He has a career-best 16.1 percent walk rate so far, which is helping him get on base more despite not making much contact at the plate. Sanchez's struggles at the plate will continue to make it difficult for him to see consistent playing time since he's not a great defensive catcher.

Grandal went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Tuesday against the Twins.

Grandal took Kenta Maeda yard in the second inning to record his third home run of the season. He's been in a horrible slump for much of the campaign, highlighted by zero multi-hit games in his last 15 starts. However, Grandal has a 28.4 percent walk rate, which has resulted in a .121/.372/.288 line across 95 plate appearances.

Realmuto suffered a bruised muscle on the inside of his left knee during Tuesday's win over the Nationals and will be reevaluated Wednesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

The 30-year-old was lifted for a pinch hitter during the eighth inning after a foul ball struck the inside of his knee while he was catching, but manager Joe Girardi doesn't believe a trip to the injured list will be necessary. Realmuto's status will be updated Wednesday, and he may end up taking it easy for a day or two.

Wong will be sidelined for a few days by a hamstring injury, Joe McDonald of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports.

The 24-year-old suffered the injury during Tuesday's contest and will be held out for at least a couple days. It doesn't appear to be a serious issue, so Wong should be able to avoid the injured list.
