Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Giants.

His sixth-inning shot off Tyler Rogers tied the game at 4-4, but the Mets eventually came up short. The homer was Alvarez's first in eight games since his promotion, and the 21-year-old has begun to alternate starts behind the dish with Tomas Nido. Alvarez is batting just .148 (4-for-27) in the majors this year with a 0:9 BB:K, but with more consistent playing time, he could heat up -- three of his four hits have come in his last three starts.

D'Arnaud (concussion) took part in more hitting work and caught a bullpen session Sunday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The 34-year-old backstop continues to make incremental progress in his recovery from a concussion, as Sunday marked the first time since landing on the injured list that he took part in any catching work. Once d'Arnaud is able to complete a full range of baseball activities, Atlanta will have to decide whether he's fit to immediately return to the 26-man active roster or if he'll require a brief rehab assignment beforehand. Sean Murphy is locked in as Atlanta's No. 1 catcher, but d'Arnaud should see fairly consistent playing time either behind the plate or as a designated hitter once he's reinstated from the IL.

Langeliers went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

The young backstop's 433-foot blast to left in the fifth inning with Jordan Diaz aboard accounted for all of Oakland's runs on the day. Langeliers has only a .234 average and .310 on-base percentage through 71 plate appearances, but the fact he's accrued six extra-base hits (two doubles, four homers) has his slugging percentage at a respectable .453.

Gomes went 2-for-4 with one homer, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.

Gomes took Clayton Kershaw deep for a home run in the bottom of the fifth for his fourth long ball in just 12 games this season. The veteran catcher has been producing a .191 ISO so far this season, a mark that would be Gomes' best since 2014. He is slashing .234/.245/.426.

Contreras was ejected from Sunday's game against the Mariners in the top of the fifth inning for snapping his bat after striking out, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Contreras started Sunday's matchup as the designated hitter and went 0-for-1 with two walks and a strikeout prior to his ejection, the seventh of his career. It seems unlikely that the ejection will lead to further discipline, so the 30-year-old should be available for the Cardinals' upcoming four-game series in San Francisco.

Bart isn't starting Sunday against the Mets.

Bart started the last two games and went 1-for-6 with a strikeout. He'll get a breather for the series finale against the Mets while Blake Sabol takes over behind the dish and bats eighth.

Realmuto went 0-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and two steals in Sunday's 9-3 victory over the Rockies.

Realmuto didn't record a hit, but he still made an impact by stealing two bases, though he also got thrown out once. The catcher now has four steals through 20 games after notching 21 swipes across 139 contests last year.

McGuire (hand) could be available in an emergency Sunday against the Brewers, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

The 28-year-old took a foul tip to the right hand during Saturday's contest but had X-rays come back negative, and it appears he won't require a stint on the injured list. The Red Sox may try to stay away from McGuire for a day or two, but the team may not need to add a third catcher to the roster since he's still technically available.

O'Hoppe was diagnosed with a torn labrum in his left shoulder Sunday and is expected to face a 4-to-6 month recovery after undergoing surgery, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury Thursday against the Yankees on an awkward swing, and he's now poised to miss most, if not the entirety, of the rest of the 2023 season. It's a horrible break for O'Hoppe and the Angels, as he was off to a strong start to his rookie campaign with a .283/.339/.547 slash line and four home runs in 16 games. Max Stassi (hip) is also still on the injured list, leaving Matt Thaiss and Chad Wallach to handle catching duties for the Halos.

Thaiss is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Though he's temporarily moved to the top of the depth chart at catcher with Logan O'Hoppe (shoulder) recently joining Max Stassi (hip) on the injured list, Thaiss will take a seat for the day game after a night game while Chad Wallach receives a turn behind the dish. In Saturday's 11-8 loss, Thaiss caught all nine innings and went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored. The two hits were the first of the season for Thaiss, who went 0-for-12 over his first six games with the Angels.
