The Cubs activated Gomes (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Wednesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Gomes will return to the starting lineup Wednesday against the Cardinals after missing a little over a week of action. Miguel Amaya was sent to Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding roster move.

Yan Gomes (concussion) is back from the 7-day injured list, so Amaya will return to the minors to get regular playing time. The 24-year-old went 3-for-13 (.231 average) with two RBI over his first six major-league games.

Nola is not in the starting lineup against the Twins on Wednesday.

Nola will take a seat after going 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in the victory over Minnesota on Tuesday. Brett Sullivan is starting behind the plate and hitting ninth for Wednesday's affair.

Nido is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a vision issue, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Officially, Nido is dealing with "dry eye syndrome" and is expected to be OK in 3-to-4 days, per Tim Healey of Newsday. Michael Perez will replace him on the roster. Francisco Alvarez will be the Mets' primary catcher.

The Mets selected Perez's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Mike Puma of the New York Post notes that Tomas Nido is not listed on the Mets' depth chart, so it appears Perez is taking his roster spot. Perez has batted just .153/.261/.254 with two home runs at Triple-A Syracuse this season.

Thaiss will start at catcher and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Though he was on the bench for Tuesday's 3-1 loss, Thaiss should have a clearer path to seeing the bulk of the starts behind the plate after Chad Wallach (concussion/neck) recently joined Max Stassi (personal/hip) and Logan O'Hoppe (shoulder) on the injured list. Thaiss is hitting .310 with an .829 OPS over 50 plate appearances on the season and could be worth a look in leagues that start two catchers where he may still be available on the waiver wire.

Lee (groin) rejoined the Triple-A Sugar Land lineup Friday and has gone 10-for-17 with a home run, four doubles, six runs and five RBI in his last three games.

Lee missed just a couple days of action last week with a left groin injury before returning to the lineup with a bang over the weekend. The 24-year-old maintains a spot on the 40-man roster, but he's at least fourth on the organizational catching depth chart with all of Martin Maldonado, Yainer Diaz and Cesar Salazar up with the big club at the moment.

D'Arnaud is starting at catcher and batting seventh for Atlanta on Wednesday versus the Red Sox, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

It's the first start since early April for d'Arnaud, who returned earlier this week from a concussion. Sean Murphy is also in the lineup at designated hitter.

Moreno is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Jose Herrera will step in behind the plate for the series finale after Moreno started at catcher Monday and Tuesday. Moreno went 4-for-7 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base between those contests and is now slashing .315/.330/.402 in 97 plate appearances on the season.

Ruiz is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Giants, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Ruiz will sit out the series finale after going 2-for-8 with a walk over the first two games against San Francisco. Riley Adams will be the starting backstop for Wednesday's contest and hit ninth.
