Narvaez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs.

Narvaez hasn't started back-to-back games in nearly two weeks as he continues to struggle with a .583 OPS and 31.1 percent strikeout rate. Jacob Nottingham receives the start behind the plate for Milwaukee, batting ninth.

Barnhart is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Barnhart walked in both his plate appearances Saturday and will return to the bench for the series finale. Tyler Stephenson will start behind the plate and bat sixth Sunday for the Reds.

Realmuto was removed from Saturday's win over the Marlins with hip discomfort, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports.

The 29-year-old went 0-for-4 with two runs and a walk before suffering the injury running to first base during the eighth inning. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, and Realmuto will be further evaluated Sunday.

Realmuto went 3-for-4 with an RBI during a 5-3 loss to the Marlins in the second game of Friday's doubleheader.

After going 0-for-3 with a run scored as the catcher in the matinee, Realmuto got a partial breather in the nightcap as the DH and took advantage. Through 40 games this season, he's slashing .274/.361/.541 with 11 homers, four steals, 30 RBI and 31 runs.

Gomes went 3-for-5 with a home run, one double and two RBI in Friday's win against Atlanta.

Gomes has seen inconsistent playing time recently while splitting time behind the dish, but he was a force at the plate in the 12-inning win Friday. He's now hitting .284 with three home runs and 11 RBI over 20 games this year.

Narvaez is not starting Friday against the Cubs.

Narvaez sits for the second game in a row and the fourth time in the last six contests. Jacob Nottingham starts behind the plate in his absence.

Barnhart remains on the bench Friday in St. Louis.

Barnhart is hitting just .184/.271/.342 on the season, so he could sit fairly frequently down the stretch, especially as the Reds have three catchers on the active roster. Tyler Stephenson got the nod behind the plate Thursday, but it will be Curt Casali manning the position Friday.

Bart is out of the lineup Friday against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Bart started the past four games and will take a seat after going 4-for-14 with three runs, one RBI and seven strikeouts during that stretch. Chadwick Tromp will serve as the catcher for Johnny Cueto for the third straight outing.

Contreras went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a walk, an RBI and two runs in a victory over the Reds on Thursday.

Contreras reached base five times in the win, tying his career high with four hits. The offensive display continued a strong month for the backstop, who is hitting .457 (16-for-35) with 10 runs scored and eight RBI in September.

Smith went 4-for-4 with a double during Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Smith set a new career high by tallying four hits in a single game, including a double in the fourth inning against Madison Bumgarner. The 25-year-old backstop improved his batting line to .279/.425/.603 with six home runs and four doubles on the year.
