  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Getting break Sunday

Stephenson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Los Angeles.

Stephenson will get a break after catching in Cincinnati's first two games of its series against the Dodgers. Luke Maile will fill in at catcher and will bat eighth as the Reds go for the series sweep.

  • Endy Rodriguez 1B | PIT

Pirates' Endy Rodriguez: Making progress in recovery

Rodriguez (elbow) will begin playing catch soon, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Rodriguez has been rehabbing at the team's facility in Florida and has already been cleared to swing from the left side of the plate. His next steps will be resuming throwing and also swinging from the right side -- with the latter step likely not occurring until late June or early July.

  • Jason Delay C | ATL

Pirates' Jason Delay: Starts rehab assignment

Delay (knee) began a rehab assignment with Single-A Bradenton on Saturday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Delay is recovering from knee surgery that occurred in mid-April and started behind the dish in his first game appearance Saturday. His rehab assignment is expected to be transferred to Triple-A Indianapolis shortly. Delay is eligible to return from the injured list in early June, though he'll likely require a lengthier ramp-up period.

  • Phillies' Garrett Stubbs: Logs steal in win

Stubbs went 2-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Rockies.

Stubbs' playing time remains low as the backup to J.T. Realmuto. This was Stubbs' first multi-hit effort of the season, but he's still just 3-for-24 (.125) in May. The catcher is at a .140/.213/.140 slash line with three steals, two RBI and three runs scored over 47 plate appearances this season.

  • Elias Diaz C | SD

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Not starting Saturday

Diaz isn't in the Rockies' lineup Saturday against the Phillies.

Diaz went 0-for-4 with a walk during Friday's series opener, and he'll now take a seat against Aaron Nola and the Phillies. Jacob Stallings will start in Diaz's place behind the dish and bat eighth.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Sitting down Saturday

Realmuto isn't in the Phillies' lineup Saturday against the Rockies.

After going 2-for-5 in a loss during Friday's series opener, Realmuto will get a breather against Dakota Hudson and the Rockies. Garrett Stubbs will fill in behind the plate and bat eighth.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Day off Saturday

Moreno isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup for Saturday's game against Miami.

Moreno will take a seat Saturday after going 0-for-3 in a loss during Friday's series opener. His absence will allow Tucker Barnhart to start behind the dish and bat eighth.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Belts solo shot Friday

Smith went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Reds on Friday.

Smith gave the Dodgers a two-run lead with his solo shot in the top of the fifth inning, but the advantage was short-lived, as Cincinnati plated six runs in the bottom of the frame. The All-Star catcher has batted just 3-for-19 over his past six games, though all three of the hits have gone for extra bases, including two that have left the yard. Smith is sporting a solid .298/.368/.482 slash line over 193 plate appearances on the season.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Sitting down Saturday

D'Arnaud isn't in Atlanta's lineup for Saturday's game against Pittsburgh.

After going 2-for-4 with two RBI during Friday's loss, d'Arnaud will take a seat Saturday while Chadwick Tromp starts behind the plate, batting eighth.

  • Keibert Ruiz C | WAS

Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Pops third homer

Ruiz went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's win over the Mariners.

The 25-year-old catcher has had a rough season so far, and Friday's long ball off George Kirby snapped a 19-game homer drought for Ruiz. Through 31 contests, he's slashing a feeble .171/.207/.270 with three home runs and 10 RBI, but his bat could be waking up -- over his last six starts, he's batting .316 (6-for-19) with two doubles in addition to Friday's blast.
