Tyler Stephenson C | CIN
Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Resting Monday
Stephenson is not in the Reds' starting lineup against the Padres on Monday.
Stephenson will be on the bench for Monday's series opener while Jose Trevino catches for Nick Lodolo. Stephenson has gone 1-for-5 with a run and two RBI in two games since returning from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Luis Torrens C | NYM
Mets' Luis Torrens: Goes on IL with bruised forearm
The Mets placed Torrens on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a right forearm contusion.
According to Laura Albanese of Newsday, Torrens said he suffered the injury while blocking a ball behind the plate in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Reds, and while he has avoided a fracture, he's sore enough that the Mets decide to make a roster move. Hayden Senger was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to replace Torrens as the Mets' backup catcher.

Keibert Ruiz C | WAS
Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Still having concussion symptoms
Ruiz has been pulled off his rehab assignment with Double-A Harrisburg on Monday due to mild headaches and will rejoin the Nationals in Miami to re-enter concussion protocol, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Ruiz's return from the 7-day injured list had seemed imminent, but interim manager Miguel Cairo was non-committal on the 27-year-old's availability to play again this season following his latest setback, per Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post. Riley Adams will continue serving as the Nationals' primary catcher while Ruiz is shelved, with Jorge Alfaro backing up Adams.

Sandy Leon C | ATL
Braves' Sandy Leon: Contract selected
Atlanta selected Leon's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.
With Sean Murphy (hip) done for the season, Leon will serve as the backup catcher behind Drake Baldwin. Leon went hitless in two plate appearances during a brief stint with Atlanta earlier this season.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Out for season with hip labral tear
Atlanta placed Murphy on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right hip labral tear.
Murphy will undergo surgery Thursday and will need about four months of rehab, which puts him on track to be back to full health for spring training, according to David O'Brien of The Athletic. Per Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Murphy said Monday that the hip injury is something that he's dealt with off and on for the last three years, but it had gotten worse lately to the point that an operation became the recommended course of action. With Murphy out for the season, Drake Baldwin and Marcell Ozuna could see even more playing time for Atlanta down the stretch, and Sandy Leon has been called up from Triple-A Gwinnett to serve as Baldwin's top backup behind the plate.

Carson Kelly C | CHC
Cubs' Carson Kelly: Goes deep twice Sunday
Kelly went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Nationals.
Kelly went deep for the second time in his last four games as he registered his third multi-homer performance of the season. The Chicago catcher is up to 16 long balls this year, which is two away from his career high of 18 home runs that he set back in 2019 while playing for the Diamondbacks. Kelly has been a pleasant surprise all season for the Cubs with his .800 OPS, and he should continue to start most days behind the plate moving forward.

Hunter Goodman C | COL
Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Resting up Sunday
Goodman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Goodman will get a chance to rest in the series finale after he had started at either catcher or designated hitter in each of the Rockies' previous five contests. Braxton Fulford will get a turn behind the plate Sunday, while Brenton Doyle gets a day off from playing center field as the DH.
-
Jimmy Crooks C | STL
Cardinals' Jimmy Crooks: Idle Sunday
Crooks is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Crooks will take a seat for the day game after starting three of the last four contests while going 1-for-10 with a run scored. Pedro Pages will draw the start at catcher Sunday, but with the 71-72 Cardinals fading from playoff contention, it wouldn't be surprising if the rookie Crooks ended up seeing the bulk of the playing time at the position for the remainder of the season.

Jose Trevino C | CIN
Reds' Jose Trevino: Returns to No. 2 role
Trevino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
On the bench for the second time in three days, Trevino is likely to see his playing time dwindle over the final few weeks of the season after top backstop Tyler Stephenson was reinstated from the injured list Friday. Trevino has produced at least one hit in each of his last three starts but has struggled on the whole since the All-Star break, slashing just .186/.226/.221 with no home runs or stolen bases.
