Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Rays' Travis d'Arnaud: May pinch hit
D'Arnaud (neck/shoulder) could make a pinch-hit appearance Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
D'Arnaud was dinged up behind the plate Thursday and manager Kevin Cash decided the backstop could use an extra day off, though it sounds like d'Arnaud is fine for the most part. While he's cooled down after a red-hot month of July, d'Arnaud still ranks among the top 10 catchers in earned value this season.

Austin Nola C | COL
Mariners' Austin Nola: On bench Saturday
Nola is not starting Saturday against Houston, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Even with a two-homer game Thursday, Nola is still hitting just .149/.255/.298 over his last 14 contests. Daniel Vogelbach will start at first base Saturday, with Omar Narvaez serving as the designated hitter.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
Mariners' Omar Narvaez: Starting as designated hitter
Narvaez (back) will return to the lineup as a designated hitter Saturday against the Astros, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Narvaez hadn't been in the lineup since Sunday while battling back spasms. He's apparently still not ready to catch but has been cleared to hit. Tom Murphy will catch Yusei Kikuchi on Saturday.

Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Not in lineup
Jansen is out of the lineup against the Rays on Saturday.
Jansen appears to have lost his role down the stretch, as he's started just four of the last 11 games behind the plate. Reese McGuire gets the nod Saturday in his absence.

Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Rays' Travis d'Arnaud: Remains out Saturday
D'Arnaud (neck/shoulder) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Blue Jays, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
D'Arnaud left Thursday's game with neck and shoulder tightness and did not appear in Friday's contest. Mike Zunino starts behind the plate Saturday.

Tom Murphy C | SF
Mariners' Tom Murphy: Plates another pair
Murphy went 1-for-3 with a two-run single in a loss to the Astros on Friday.
Murphy opened the scoring on the night with his first-inning single that brought home both Austin Nola and Mallex Smith. The 28-year-old catcher is up to 38 RBI on the season, which adds to a slew of career-best figures that also includes 12 doubles and 17 home runs across 238 plate appearances.

Jake Rogers C | DET
Tigers' Jake Rogers: On bench Friday
Rogers is not in the lineup Friday in Oakland.
Rogers' hapless performance at the plate isn't getting any better. He's gone 2-for-48 with 16 strikeouts over his last 15 games. Grayson Greiner will catch Spencer Turnbull on Friday.
-
Mitch Garver C | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: On bench Friday
Garver is not starting Friday against Cleveland, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Garver missed a pair of games earlier in the week with a sore jaw, though he was able to start Thursday's contest. It appears that Friday's off day is simply a routine one. Jason Castro gets the nod behind the plate.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
Mariners' Omar Narvaez: Back issue improving
Narvaez's back has been doing better, and he could return to the lineup over the weekend, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Narvaez hasn't started since Sunday, though he did appear off the bench in Thursday's contest. He could feature in one of the Mariners' next couple games, either behind the plate or at DH if the club wants to ease him back into action.
