Murphy went 3-for-4 with a double and a three-run home run in Sunday's victory over the Royals.
Murphy sent Seth Brown and Ramon Laureano home on a sixth-inning shot, giving him eight home runs on the season. The catcher has at least one hit in four of his last five games, including two multi-hit affairs. After batting .218 in April and .188 in May, Murphy has made some improvements and is slashing .261/.320/.500 in June, raising his season batting average to .214.

Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Knocks three-run blast
Vazquez went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-4 win over St. Louis.
Vazquez doubled and scored in the seventh inning before putting the Red Sox up 6-1 with his three-run shot in the eighth. It was his third home run of the year and first since May 24. He'd been stuck in an 8-for-47 (.170) slump through 12 games in June entering Sunday's contest. Vazquez is now slashing .271/.315/.388 with 14 extra-base hits and 27 RBI.

Rangers' Mitch Garver: Beginning rehab stint
Garver (illness) reported to Double-A Frisco on Sunday to start a rehab assignment.
The 31-year-old landed on the COVID-19 injured list June 10, and he'll head to the minors for a quick rehab assignment before rejoining the Rangers. Garver should be back with the big-league club at some point this week.

White Sox's Seby Zavala: Seeing more work behind plate
Zavala is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Though he'll take a seat in favor of Reese McGuire for the series finale, Zavala may be manager Tony La Russa's preferred backstop at the moment. Zavala started at catcher in each of the White Sox's past three games -- two against right-handed pitchers, one against a lefty -- and went a combined 5-for-12 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two additional runs.

Maldonado is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Maldonado started the past three games and will receive a day off after going 2-for-9 with a home run, a double and three RBI. Jason Castro will work behind the plate in Sunday's series finale.

Sanchez went 1-for-3 with a home run, two walks and two RBI in Saturday's 11-1 win over the Diamondbacks.
The home run was Sanchez's second of June and his eighth overall of the season, placing him in a tie for fifth place among all MLB catchers. He'll be behind the plate in Sunday's series finale in Arizona, batting seventh.
