  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Getting breather Thursday

Narvaez isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Toronto, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Narvaez will take a seat Thursday after going 2-for-8 with a homer and five RBI over the first two games of the series. Connor Wong will catch for starter Brayan Bello and bat ninth.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Getting breather Thursday

Kirk is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Red Sox.

Kirk will receive a day of rest after starting at catcher in the first two games of the series. Tyler Heineman will be behind the dish and bat ninth as the Blue Jays try to avoid the sweep.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Out of Cleveland lineup

Naylor is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.

Naylor will get a day off after going 1-for-4 with a single in Wednesday's win over the Tigers. Austin Hedges will do the catching and bat ninth Thursday as the Guardians go for the sweep.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

    Astros' Yainer Diaz: Sitting Thursday

Diaz isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Diaz will sit down for Thursday's series finale after going 1-for-7 with two strikeouts over the first two games. Victor Caratini will replace him behind the plate and bat fourth.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Not in Minnesota lineup

Jeffers is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Rangers.

Jeffers started each of the last two games after being activated from the 7-day injured list, but he'll grab a seat for Thursday's matinee. Christian Vazquez will be behind the dish and bat ninth for the Twins.

  • Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Not starting Thursday

Rutschman is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Rays.

Rutschman started at catcher in each of the first two games of the series, but he'll get a breather during Thursday's matinee. Alex Jackson is behind the dish and batting eighth for the Orioles.

  • Orioles' Samuel Basallo: Aiming to return Friday

Basallo (hand) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Rays but hopes to return to action Friday against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Basallo had to depart Wednesday's game after being hit on the right hand by a pitch, but X-rays came back clean and he's feeling better Thursday. The rookie will hope to return to the lineup after one day of rest.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Collects four hits in victory

Langeliers went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, two total runs and two total RBI in Wednesday's 6-0 win against Houston.

The Astros were unable to get Langeliers out, as he fell a triple shy of the cycle. The talented backstop notched an RBI with a ground-rule double in the fifth inning and later belted a solo homer to left field in the seventh. Langeliers had been struggling a bit coming into the contest, but he's enjoyed a marvelous second half overall, batting .308 with 19 homers, 17 doubles, 43 runs, 39 RBI and three stolen bases over 54 games since the All-Star break.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Makes more history with 60th homer

Raleigh went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double and four RBI in Wednesday's 9-2 win over Colorado.

Raleigh has now pushed his homer total up to 60 amid his historic campaign. The All-Star backstop is just the seventh player in history to launch 60 long balls in a single season, and he's inching closer to the American League record of 62 established by Aaron Judge in 2022. The Mariners have four contests left during the regular season for Raleigh to potentially accomplish that feat. He has 11 multi-homer efforts in 2025 to go with 125 RBI, 109 runs scored and 14 stolen bases through 155 outings.

  • Orioles' Samuel Basallo: X-rays negative

X-rays on Basallo's right hand came back negative following his removal from Wednesday's game against Tampa Bay, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Basallo had to come out of the game after taking a 96 mph offering from Pete Fairbanks off his hand in the ninth inning, but he seemingly managed to escape without suffering any fractures. The Orioles could decide to hold him out of Thursday's series finale to give him time to recover, which would likely give Ryan Mountcastle a start as the designated hitter with Coby Mayo at first base.
