Sanchez was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Sanchez was recalled just a day earlier, and he served as the DH in Friday's game against the White Sox, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout. The 23-year-old will return to Triple-A, where he holds a healthy .288/.336/.541 slash line in 111 at-bats.

The Yankees recalled Sanchez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Sanchez posted an .872 OPS with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, and the Yankees felt it was a good time to call him up and let him get some opportunities at the big league level. It's not clear if Sanchez will remain with the Yankees long-term or head back to Triple-A at some point, but he will see immediate action Friday as he'll serve as the Yankees' designated hitter and hit sixth against White Sox starter Chris Sale.

Stassi was optioned to Triple-A Fresno following Thursday's game, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Stassi was called up for a few days while Jason Castro was on paternity leave, but he will head back to Triple-A with Castro set to rejoin the team Friday. Stassi will garner consideration next time the Astros decide to bring up a catcher from the minors.

Sanchez will be called up by the Yankees, according to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre beat writer Shane Hennigan.

The Yankees have not announced Sanchez's promotion just yet, but it appears they will do so in the near future, as this report comes from the team's Triple-A squad. Sanchez is one of the Yankees' best prospects, and he posted an .872 OPS with five home runs and 20 RBI in 26 games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. This may just be a temporary promotion for Sanchez, but he could see some action the next couple days with the Yankees scheduled to face two left-handers.

Pentecost (shoulder) was activated from the disabled list Thursday and was sent to Class-A Lansing.

The road to recovery was long, but it seems that the former first-round draft pick is back to full health and ready for regular game action. As long as he remains healthy, Pentecost could still prove why he is regarded as a valuable catching prospect in the Blue Jays organization.

Perez hit his fifth homer of the season -- a three-run shot -- in the first inning of Wednesday's 7-3 victory over the Yankees.

The catcher is struggling with a .234 batting average, but the five home runs and 18 RBI are nice. He was struggling earlier, but now has a four-game hit streak after going 1-16 in the last five games. The Royals are not afraid to use Perez, so he'll get plenty of chances to produce this season.

Vazquez is batting eighth and starting behind the plate Wednesday against the A's, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Coming off Tommy John surgery, Vazquez continues to get regularly scheduled days off. Vazquez's bat still hasn't come around, as he's hitting just .208 with one home run, but is the preferred option over Ryan Hanigan due to his defensive prowess.

Stassi will start at catcher and bat eighth in Wednesday's series finale against Cleveland.

Recalled to the majors Tuesday, Stassi will get his first start behind the plate for the Astros this season. Erik Kratz will take a seat on the bench while starter Jason Castro (paternity) remains away from the team.

Perez is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Perez has been rotating behind the plate with Geovany Soto, and the trend will continue again Tuesday. Perez is hitting just .159 on the season, so if the struggles continue, Soto could be in line to take over more regular starts.

Gomes is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Astros.

Gomes had started the last four games, but an 0-for-12 showing in that time dropped his season average down to a measly .170. Chris Gimenez will draw the start behind the plate in his place and bat ninth against Chris Devenski.
