Vazquez is not in the lineup Thursday against the Orioles, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Vazquez will head to the bench for a breather after starting the past two games behind the dish and going 1-for-6 in those contests. In his stead, Sandy Leon will start at catcher and hit eighth.

Gomes is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Tigers, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

He has started the last four games, so it's no surprise that Cleveland will rest him in the day game at Comerica Park. Gomes is hitting .250/.325/.361 with one home run and a 37.5 percent strikeout rate in 36 at-bats this month. Roberto Perez is starting behind the dish, hitting ninth.

McCann is not in the lineup versus Cleveland on Wednesday.

Grayson Greiner will nab a start behind the plate for Wednesday's series finale as McCann heads to the bench following five straight starts. During Tuesday's contest, McCann went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Expect him back in the lineup Thursday against Seattle.

Garver is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Garver will head to the bench for a maintenance day with the Twins set to play a night contest ahead of Wednesday's day game. Bobby Wilson will start behind the dish and hit eighth in his place.

Jansen went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a walk and a stolen base for Triple-A Buffalo in its 6-5 loss to Pawtucket on Monday in 10 innings.

Both of Jansen's doubles came off Jalen Beeks, who entered Monday's contest with a 1.72 ERA and 52:8 K:BB in 31.1 innings. Though he has infrequently encountered pitchers of Beeks' high caliber this season, the 23-year-old catcher has nonetheless impressed in his second taste of the International League, just as he did in 2017 following a late callup from Double-A New Hampshire. Through 107 plate appearances on the campaign, Jansen is slashing .311/.406/.478 with 10 extra-base hits and a 3-for-3 success rate on stolen-base attempts.

Vazquez is not in the lineup Monday against Oakland, Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston reports.

Vazquez is hitting a mere .179/.230/.217 on the season, but fellow catcher Sandy Leon, who starts Monday, is hitting just .159/.213/.227, so there's no immediate threat to his job. Blake Swihart is also hanging around, but he's been called on to catch just one inning and is hitting just .160/.250/.200, so he's not much of a threat himself.

Gomes went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run, double, three RBI and three runs scored Sunday against the Royals.

Gomes hit his fifth home run of the season, this one coming off left-hander Danny Duffy. It was his second home run off a left-handed pitcher this season, and though his numbers are down against them as a whole through 33 at-bats this season, he managed to slug .509 against them last season. He remains the primary starter behind the plate for the Indians and is hitting a respectable .266/.343/.479 on the season.

Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored Saturday against Oakland.

The home run was a solo shot in the second inning off Andrew Triggs. Sanchez still has a low batting average this season, but his .209/.304/.504 overall line is perfectly respectable, especially for a catcher.

Maldonado is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Twins.

Maldonado has been on a hot streak in May, with 12 hits (more than he had in all of April) in just 22 at-bats. Rene Rivera will catch and bat ninth for the Angels on Saturday as Maldonado gets a day of rest.

Maile went 3-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 5-3 extra-innings win over the Red Sox.

It was a rollercoaster night for the Jays' backup catcher. He failed to corral a third strike against Sandy Leon in the fourth inning, and his late throw to first base sailed over Justin Smoak's head and allowed Brock Holt to scamper home, giving Boston a 3-2 lead. Maile atoned for his error in the seventh when his solo shot off Chris Sale tied the score, but he saved the best for last, crushing a two-run walkoff shot off Brian Johnson in the 12th. The 27-year-old hadn't homered at any level in almost a full calendar year, so don't expect a repeat performance any time soon, but Friday's heroics pushed his slash line through 17 big-league games this season to an eye-popping .339/.418/.542.
