Edmundo Sosa 2B | PHI
Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Dealt to Philadelphia
Sosa was traded from the Cardinals to the Phillies on Saturday in exchange for JoJo Romero, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Sosa spent the first four seasons of his major-league career in St. Louis but will get a change of scenery after he slashed .189/.244/.270 with 17 runs, eight RBI and three steals over 53 games to begin the year. The 26-year-old saw inconsistent playing time with the Cardinals over the first half of the season and will likely serve as infield depth for his new team.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Powers offense in win
Riley went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and three RBI during Friday's 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks.
The 25-year-old saw his 18-game hit streak come to an end after going 0-for-4 versus the Phillies on Wednesday, and he responded Friday by clubbing three extra-base hits. Riley has been one of the best hitters in the majors this year with a .299/.360/.603 slash line, 29 doubles, 29 home runs and 67 RBI in 99 games.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Homers again Friday
Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an RBI single in Friday's 4-1 win over the Rays.
Ramirez has homered in consecutive games for the first time since June 9-10. His fifth-inning blast gave the Guardians the lead, and he padded the advantage in the seventh with an RBI single. The third baseman has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games, going 13-for-43 (.302) in that span. For the season, he's slashing .287/.363/.572 with 21 long balls, 83 RBI, 57 runs scored and 14 stolen bases through 411 plate appearances.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Blue Jays' Matt Chapman: Power surge continues
Chapman went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Tigers.
The third baseman gave the Blue Jays an early lead by taking Bryan Garcia deep in the second inning, but the offense quickly ran out of steam. Chapman's gone yard three times in the last two days to extend his hitting streak to eight games, but he's been locked in for longer than that at the plate -- over his last 18 contests, he's slashing a sizzling .385/.467/.815 with eight homers and 18 RBI.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Collects first three MLB hits
Garcia went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees.
Making his second straight start, Garcia racked up the first hits of his big-league career. The 22-year-old might head back to the minors when Bobby Witt (hamstring) gets healthy, but given how little Nicky Lopez has contributed this season, Kansas City could instead elect to keep Garcia around and get a better look at him in the second half. His .291/.369/.409 slash line through 78 games for Double-A Northwest Arkansas this year comes with 27 steals in 30 attempts, but Garcia's also shown some developing gap power with 24 doubles.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Rays' Isaac Paredes: On bench Saturday
Paredes isn't starting Saturday against the Guardians, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Paredes is getting a day off after he went 3-for-16 with a solo home run, a walk and four strikeouts over the last four games. Ji-Man Choi is starting at first base while Randy Arozarena serves as the designated hitter.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Doubles in three-RBI night
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in an 11-1 victory over the Mariners on Friday.
With Robbie Ray on the mound in the third inning, Bregman ripped a double deep to the gap in left-center to plate Yuli Gurriel from second as well as Yordan Alvarez, who made an excellent read and scored from first. Bregman followed up his timely hitting with an RBI single in the fourth. The 28-year-old third baseman has hit safely in three straight games and is slashing a respectable .244/.352/.425 on the season.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Launches homer on rehab
Jung (shoulder) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run for the Rangers' affiliate in the Arizona Complex League on Friday.
Jung made his second rehab appearance -- both have come as a designated hitter -- and has hits in both games. He's expected to serve a week to 10 days in the ACL and eventually join Triple-A Round Rock, where he finished in 2021. Jung is limited to DH duty for now, but Levi Weaver of The Athletic reported the third baseman might play the field this season, something originally thought to be out of the question.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Registers rare steal
Arenado went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 6-2 win over the Nationals.
This was Arenado's first game back after he missed a two-game set in Toronto due to his vaccination status. While he wasn't able to produce a hit, he picked up his second steal of the season, both of which have come in his last nine games. The third baseman now has a .293/.358/.523 slash line with 18 home runs, 59 RBI, 43 runs scored, 24 doubles and a triple through 92 contests. With the Cardinals south of the Canadian border again, he should resume his role as the everyday third baseman.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Homers in second consecutive game
Wisdom went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 4-2 win over the Giants.
Wisdom opened the scoring with a solo shot in the fifth inning, and he added another run in the ninth after hitting a ground-rule double. This was the third baseman's first multi-hit effort since July 5, and he's homered in consecutive games. For the season, he's slashing .226/.321/.460 with 19 long balls, 50 RBI, 51 runs scored, six stolen bases and a career-high 22 doubles in 95 contests.
