Suarez (finger), activated from the injured list earlier in the day, went 0-for-3 with a walk while serving as the designated hitter in a loss to the Rangers on Tuesday.

The Associated Press reports Suarez took grounders in the infield prior to the game to test out his finger, and the decision was apparently made at that point for him to hold off on playing defense for at least Tuesday's game. Suarez was at least able to return from his IL stint in minimum time, and his bat figures to be key in the Mariners trying to snap their untimely late-season funk and lock down an AL wild-card spot.

Walls went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored Tuesday against the Guardians.

Walls reached base on a one-out single in the second inning and stole second base. He has 10 steals on the season, three of which have come since Sept. 7. Walls has struggled otherwise, maintaining just a .173/.264/.281 line with seven home runs and 51 runs scored across 445 plate appearances on the campaign. Even so, Walls has started in both of the Rays' past two games against right-handed pitchers and appears to have at least temporarily emerged as the team's preferred option at second base ahead of Jonathan Aranda.

Castro isn't starting Wednesday against the Reds.

Castro went 0-for-3 with a walk and three strikeouts Tuesday and will head to the bench for the second time in the last three games. Kevin Newman is taking over at the keystone and batting seventh.

Ramirez went 3-for-6 with a triple and two RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Rays.

Ramirez went just 1-for-12 against the Rangers last weekend, but he bounced back Tuesday with his first multi-hit effort in seven games. The triple was his first extra-base hit since Sept. 17. The third baseman has cooled ever so slightly recently, but he still owns a .277/.354/.515 slash line with 28 home runs, 18 stolen bases, 119 RBI, 86 runs scored, 42 doubles and five triples through 150 games this year.

Jung went 3-for-4 with two home runs, two runs and five RBI in a 5-0 win against the Mariners on Tuesday.

Jung was responsible for all five Texas runs Tuesday, connecting on a solo home run in the second inning, an RBI single in the sixth and a three-run homer in the eighth to provide valuable insurance. The 24-year-old has recorded multiple hits in each of his last two contests, batting 5-for-8 with a double and two long balls to up his season line to .227/.250/.515 across 16 games. His slugging is propped up by five of his 15 leaving the yard.

Davis went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-2 win against the Rockies on Tuesday.

Davis singled in the first inning, connected on a solo home run off Colorado starter German Marquez in the fourth and singled again in the ninth. The 29-year-old continued a strong September with multiple hits for the second straight game as he's 7-for-9 with a pair of homers and doubles apiece over his last two contests.

Bregman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's victory over the Diamondbacks.

The Astros smacked three home runs in the sixth inning, including back-to back shots from David Hensley and Alex Bregman. The long ball was Bregman's first since Sept. 11 and 22nd of the season. He also added a base hit on the day, improving his season-long slash line to .263/.370/.462 through 148 games.

Miranda went 3-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.

Miranda singled and scored in the first inning before ripping an RBI double off Lance Lynn in the bottom of the third frame. He later added another single later in the contest. The three-hit performance was his third consecutive game with multiple hits -- he's gone 8-for-14 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored over that stretch. Miranda is now batting .273 with 15 homers, 65 RBI, 44 runs and a stolen base over 117 games this season.

Rendon (wrist) batted against minor-league pitchers Tuesday and could do so again Wednesday or Thursday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Interim manager Phil Nevin said the third baseman "felt good" after Tuesday's session as the Angels determine whether it's feasible for the veteran to play during the closing stages of the season. Rendon's return is complicated by the fact he must first serve a five-game suspension -- stemming from his involvement in a June brawl with the Mariners -- before being able to play in games, and time is running out with only eight games left on the schedule.

Urias left Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with right knee discomfort, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Urias went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a triple before he suffered the injury while running the bases. The 28-year-old will continue to be evaluated and can be considered day-to-day until the team provides specifics on the injury.
