Devers is dealing with a left calf injury but hopes to return Sunday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The injury explains why Devers is sitting for the second consecutive day Saturday against Arizona, and it may also partially explain his 2-for-19 stretch over his last five games. He's feeling better, however, so a trip to the injured list doesn't seem necessary.

Devers is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

After getting a scheduled day of rest Friday, Devers will remain out of the lineup for a second straight contest Saturday. The 26-year-old went 2-for-19 with four strikeouts over his last five games, so the Red Sox will hope the multiple days of rest lead to better results for him moving forward. Justin Turner will draw the start at third base and bat third versus Arizona.

The Brewers selected Monasterio's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

The 25-year-old will get his first taste of the majors, replacing Willy Adames (concussion) on the active roster, after spending nearly a decade in the minor leagues between four different organizations. Monasterio has displayed a discerning eye at the plate with more walks (32) than strikeouts (29) so far this season, and he can run a little as evidenced by his 11 steals through 42 games. However, it remains to be seen exactly what his role will be with the big club.

Sosa is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta.

Sosa will sit for the third time in four games as the Phillies go with Alec Bohm at third base and Kody Clemens at first against right-hander Charlie Morton. The first two months of the season have been night-and-day for Sosa; he's batting .226/.255/.264 in May after slashing .305/.323/.542 in April.

Peterson is not in the starting lineup Saturday against Houston.

Peterson will get a breather as Oakland faces southpaw Framber Valdez on the mound. Aledmys Diaz will take over at the hot corner and bat sixth versus the Astros.

Urias will sit Saturday versus the Rangers.

Urias will remain on the bench for a second straight game after being activated from the 10-day injured list. The 28-year-old went 0-for-1 after he entered Friday's loss as a pinch hitter. Adley Rutschman will slot in at designated hitter while James McCann enters the lineup at catcher and bats sixth against Texas.

McMahon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Friday against the Mets.

McMahon took Max Scherzer deep in the second inning to tally his fifth homer of the season. It was his first long ball since April 21 -- a span of 29 games -- and he hit just .198 in that span with eight RBI and 13 runs scored. McMahon has taken a significant step back to this point in 2023, as he has only a .398 slugging percentage and 43 combined RBI and runs scored across 50 games.

Bregman went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI on Friday against the Athletics.

Bregman tallied his fourth multi-hit performance in his last 10 games, and he's also racked up eight RBI and 10 runs scored in that span. After a dreadful start to the season, he's hit .286 across his last 16 games. Bregman is striking out at only a 9.9 percent clip, so his average should continue to tick up as the campaign progresses.

Walls went 1-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases Friday against the Dodgers.

Walls continues to use his defensive versatility to remain a regular in the lineup. In the last 10 games, he's started once at shortstop, four times at third base and three times at second. Walls has been particularly aggressive on the basepaths across the last two games by swiping four bases. His 13 stolen bases are the primary source of his fantasy value, but Walls has also quietly amassed an .840 OPS as well as 27 runs scored across 41 games this season.

Davis went 3-for-6 with two doubles, a home run, three runs scored and three RBI in Friday's 15-1 rout of the Brewers.

He launched a two-run shot in the seventh inning off Ethan Small, padding the Giants' already huge lead. Davis' bat has slowed down a little in May, but he's still slashing a solid .267/.345/.467 through 23 games on the month with three homers, 11 runs and 12 RBI.
