  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Plays catch on field Saturday

Rendon (wrist) was able to play catch on the field prior to Saturday's game versus the Rockies, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Angels manager Phil Nevin told reporters that Rendon's wrist continues to feel better. The infielder was placed on the 10-day injured list June 19 because of a contusion on his left wrist, and it's not known yet if he'll require a rehab stint before rejoining the club. Rendon is eligible to come off the injured list June 26, but fantasy managers will need to wait for updates and shouldn't assume he's back with the club on that date.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

    Dodgers' Max Muncy: Returning Tuesday

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Muncy (hamstring) will take live at-bats Sunday and be activated from the injured list Tuesday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Muncy has been out since June 13 with a strained left hamstring, and he will be back in the starting lineup when he returns Tuesday against Colorado. The 32-year-old slugger is slashing .191/.323/.474 with 18 homers and 45 RBI across 251 plate appearances this season.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Absent from lineup

Paredes is not starting Saturday's game against the Royals.

Paredes entered Saturday's game having started 16 consecutive games at third base. He'd hit .271 with an impressive 1.063 OPS in that span, so this should just be a regular day of rest. Vidal Brujan will enter the lineup at second base while Taylor Walls will shift to third base.

  • Brett Baty RF | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Sitting versus lefty

Baty isn't starting Saturday against Philadelphia, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Left-hander Cristopher Sanchez will take the mound to begin Saturday's contest for the Phillies, meaning the lefty-hitting Baty will start in the Mets' dugout. Danny Mendick will make his season debut and start at third base while batting ninth.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

    Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Sitting again

Donaldson is not in Saturday's lineup against the Rangers.

Donaldson will sit for the second consecutive game, as he's in the midst of a 2-for-29 stretch across his last 10 appearances. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will draw the start at the hot corner while hitting seventh.

  • Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Dealing with back injury

Bernabel (back) has been on the 7-day injured list since May 26.

Bernabel was one of the bigger risers in the Rockies' organization in 2022 and reached High-A Spokane during his age-20 season. He began 2023 with Double-A Hartford and hasn't experienced the same success, maintaining just a .630 OPS across 126 plate appearances. It's unclear how long the injury had affected him prior to landing on the injured list, so he could be in for an improved second half of the season.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Smacks 10th homer

Longoria went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 8-5 loss against the Giants.

Longoria is on a four-game hit streak and is slashing .320/.379/.800 in the month of June. That's the good news; the bad news is he's started just six of 21 games during the month. The longtime veteran is on pace to hit his most homers in a season since 2019, when he launched 20 as a member of the Giants. The demotion of Josh Rojas to Triple-A Reno benefits Longoria, but the Diamondbacks have mostly rolled with Emmanuel Rivera (.316 average, .372 BABIP) at third base. Additionally, the return of Alek Thomas from Reno crowds the outfield, which has moved Lourdes Gurriel to the primary DH spot.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Smacks solo homer

Lewis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-1 victory over the Tigers.

He got the Twins on the board in the second inning with a homer off lefty Joey Wentz. Lewis is now up to four home runs and a steal to go along with a .315/.333/.507 slash line, though he's also struck out 21 times in just 73 at-bats. Expect the 24-year-old to be in the lineup more often than not -- the Twins will continue to build in occasional off days for him after multiple tears of the same ACL interrupted Lewis' development as a prospect.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Collects three RBI

Suarez went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 13-1 win over the Orioles.

Suarez was recently in the midst of a 3-for-22 slump but has caught fire over the past two games, going 5-for-8 with two doubles, two walks, five RBI and three runs. The 31-year-old has just seven homers on the year and only one long ball in 65 plate appearances since the start of June, putting him well behind the 31-homer pace he recorded each of the past two seasons.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Stays hot with homer

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-1 loss to the Brewers.

Ramirez has gone 26-for-65 (.400) with six homers and 16 RBI over his last 15 contests. The third baseman provided the Guardians' lone run with his long ball off Peter Strzelecki in the seventh inning. Ramirez's June surge has lifted his season numbers to a .293/.355/.519 slash line, 12 homers, 46 RBI, 44 runs scored and six stolen bases through 71 contests. He remains the biggest star in Cleveland's otherwise inconsistent offense.
