Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Hits 24th homer
Machado went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Monday's 6-2 victory versus Miami.
Machado produced the game's first run with a first-inning sacrifice fly and tacked on a solo shot to center field in the fifth frame. The long ball was his third over his past three contests following a cold 12-game stretch during which he went homerless and batted .146. Though Machado's season .251/.317/.462 slash line is well below his norm, he's still been pretty productive with 24 home runs and 74 RBI over 476 plate appearances.

Zack Gelof 2B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Belts ninth homer
Gelof went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a 6-4 win against Kansas City on Monday.
Gelof gave Oakland a 2-1 lead in the third inning with his 428-foot solo shot to center field. The rookie has gone deep nine times in his first 32 MLB games, outdoing the pace he set by hitting 12 long balls over 69 contests with Triple-A Las Vegas prior to getting called up. Gelof has been red-hot of late, batting .441 (15-for-34) with three homers, three doubles, six RBI and a stolen base over his past eight games.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Expected to rejoin big club
The Yankees are expected to recall Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre prior to Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.
Peraza hit .308 and posted a .819 OPS over his last nine games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and his recent production in the minors looks as though it'll earn him another trip to the big leagues. The Yankees are likely to give their young players plenty of playing time down the stretch, with Peraza likely to get most of his starts at third base.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Will lead off Monday
Garcia (ribs) is in the lineup for Monday's game against the A's.
Garcia worked as a reserve for a couple days after leaving Friday's contest with a rib issue, but he pinch hit Sunday and has been deemed ready to play a full nine innings. As he has done regularly of late, he will man the hot corner and hit leadoff Monday night.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Activated from injured list
Longoria (back) was activated from the injured list Monday.
Longoria began a rehab assignment last Thursday, and the Diamondbacks decided he was ready to rejoin the big club after appearing in three games over the last four days. Based on his usage earlier in the season it's unlikely he will play every day, but with an .803 OPS and all kinds of Diamondbacks manning the hot corner in during his absence, Longoria should jump right back into the mix.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Giants' J.D. Davis: Sitting out Monday
Davis is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Davis will get a breather after he started in each of the last four games while going 5-for-14 with a double, an RBI and a run. With Davis on the bench, Wilmer Flores will pick up a start at third base in his stead and bat third in the series opener.

Nick Maton DH | CHW
Tigers' Nick Maton: Demoted to minors
Maton was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Maton is the roster casualty with the Tigers bringing up outfield prospect Parker Meadows from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Across 293 plate appearances at the major-league level this season, Maton has turned in a .173/.288/.305 batting line.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Royals' Matt Duffy: Notches rare steal
Duffy went 0-for-3 with a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Cubs.
Duffy got aboard on a fielder's choice in the second inning and proceeded to record his first steal of the season. The infielder last swiped a bag in 2021 when he picked up eight steals in 97 games with the Cubs. The 32-year-old has seen a little extra playing time lately with Maikel Garcia (ribs) dealing with a nagging injury. Duffy is slashing .258/.315/.319 with one home run, 12 RBI and 15 runs scored over 178 plate appearances, mainly serving as a short-side platoon option this season.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Rare steal Sunday
Riley went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Giants.
After rapping a two-out single in the first inning, Riley got himself into scoring position with his third steal of the season -- a new career high -- and first since late June. The third baseman is slashing .304/.360/.557 through 19 games in August with five home runs, 13 RBI and 14 runs, and he sits one long ball short of his third straight 30-homer campaign.
