  • Blue Jays' Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Pops first homer of year

Kiner-Falefa went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Rockies.

Getting the start at third base and batting eighth, Kiner-Falefa took Tyler Kinley deep in the ninth inning, although the Blue Jays were in a 12-2 hole at the time. The utility player has already made appearances in six games at second base and eight games at the hot corner, batting .306 (11-for-36) through 13 contests with one homer, one steal, three RBI and four runs.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Hitless in return

Dalbec started at third base and went 0-for-3 in Friday's 7-0 loss to the Angels.

Dalbec was called up from Triple-A Worcester on Friday and was included in the lineup for Rafael Devers (shoulder). The injured third baseman is also expected to sit out Saturday, per Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe, so Dalbec may get a second straight start. Dalbec, who opened the season on the 26-man roster, is still seeking his first hit (0-for-12).

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Tigers' Gio Urshela: Sitting to begin twin bill

Urshela isn't in the Tigers' lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Twins.

Urshela will get a breather to begin Saturday after going 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI during Friday's win. His absence will allow Matt Vierling to pick up a start at third base while batting sixth.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Goes deep in loss

Suarez went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer during Friday's loss to St. Louis.

Suarez belted a three-run shot during Arizona's six-run fifth inning but the Cardinals would later surge back ahead to take the lead for good. The veteran infielder was stuck in a 10-game homeless drought prior to Friday's contest. He's up to five extra-base hits with 12 RBI and a 4:17 BB:K through 14 games.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Drives in three runs

Arenado went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer in Friday's win over Arizona.

Arenado started the Cardinals' big day with a three-run jack in the first inning. He snapped an uncharacteristic 39-game homeless drought dating back to last season. The veteran third baseman boosted his season slash line to .276/.295/.379 with four extra-base hits and eight RBI through 61 plate appearances.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Four hits in lopsided win

McMahon went 4-for-6 with three doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 12-4 win over Toronto.

It's already McMahon's sixth multi-hit game this season. The 29-year-old third baseman has gotten off to a red-hot start, batting .415 with a 1.107 OPS, two homers and 11 RBI through in his first 53 at-bats. While he may not have a great supporting cast in Colorado, McMahon's provided consistent production throughout his career, hitting 20-plus homers in four of his prior five seasons.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Likely out Saturday

Manager Alex Cora said Friday that Devers (shoulder) will likely sit out Saturday's game against the Angels, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Cora had previously said Friday that Devers was expected to return to the lineup Saturday, but the team may be a little more cautious with its star third baseman. If Devers does end up missing Saturday's contest, it will be the third consecutive start he's missed due to his sore left shoulder, though the team remains optimistic he'll avoid an IL stint.

  • Oliver Dunn 2B | CHW

Brewers' Oliver Dunn: Not starting Friday

Dunn is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles.

Dunn is 1-for-10 with four strikeouts over his past two contests and finds himself on the bench for a second straight game. Joey Ortiz is starting at the hot corner against Baltimore right-hander Tyler Wells.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

    Astros' Alex Bregman: Battling illness

Bregman isn't in the Astros' lineup Friday due to an illness, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Bregman has gone 7-for-19 with an RBI across his last four games, but he will sit down Friday as he recovers from an illness. Grae Kessinger will take over at third base and bat ninth, and he could be in line for more starts should Bregman have to miss multiple games.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Sitting versus lefty

Rojas isn't in the Mariners' lineup Friday against the Cubs.

Left-hander Jordan Wicks will start Friday's contest on the mound for Chicago, meaning the lefty-hitting Rojas will begin the game on the bench. Luis Urias will start at third base instead while batting ninth.
