  • Zach McKinstry 3B | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Drives in two in loss

McKinstry went 2-for-3 with a walk, a triple, a run scored and two RBI in Monday's 10-8 loss to the Mets.

McKinstry continued his nice stretch at the plate, as he's now batting .323 over his last 10 games with a home run, five RBI and six runs scored. Monday's triple was the utility player's 11th of the season, which is seven more than anyone else on the team. On the year, McKinstry is now sporting a .789 OPS, which would be a new career best.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Transferred to 60-day IL

Atlanta transferred Riley (abdomen) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The transaction frees a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Ha-Seong Kim (back), who was claimed off waivers from the Rays on Monday. Riley underwent season-ending core surgery nearly two weeks ago and is expected to be ready for spring training.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Getting breather Monday

Bohm is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Milwaukee.

Bohm put together an 11-game hitting streak upon his return from the injured list Aug. 17, but he'll get a breather Monday after going hitless in his last three contests. Edmundo Sosa will start third base and bat eighth for the Phillies.

  • Brett Harris 3B | ATH

Athletics' Brett Harris: Losing out on playing time

Harris is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Harris had been seeing fairly steady playing time at third base following his call-up from Triple-A Las Vegas on Aug. 15, but he appears to have faded into a reserve role in the wake of fellow infielder Zack Gelof getting a promotion last Monday. With Gelof starting at second base in all seven of the Athletics' games since his call-up, Darell Hernaiz has shifted over to third base on a more frequent basis.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Could be ready for rehab games soon

Arenado will join the Cardinals in St. Louis on Wednesday and have his injured right shoulder examined Thursday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

If he gains clearance from team doctors, Arenado will go through a pregame workout with the team Thursday and then possibly go out on a rehab assignment. The veteran third baseman has been shelved since late July with a right shoulder strain but could be back on the Cardinals' active roster by mid-September.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Giants' Matt Chapman: In Monday's lineup

Chapman (shin/foot) will start at third base and bat fifth Monday in Colorado, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Chapman fouled a ball off his foot/shin during Sunday's 13-2 win over the Orioles and exited the game early, but he expressed optimism that he wouldn't miss further time. As anticipated, Chapman will check back into the lineup as the Giants kick off a three-game series in Coors Field.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Taking seat Monday

Moncada is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Houston, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moncada started each of the first three games of the series but will take a seat in Monday's finale. Oswald Peraza will handle third base and bat second for the Halos.

  • Paul DeJong 3B | WAS

Nationals' Paul DeJong: Sitting after three straight starts

DeJong is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

DeJong will hit the bench after he had started in each of the last three games while going 2-for-11 with seven strikeouts. Though DeJong should be a fixture in the lineup against left-handed pitching throughout September, his playing time versus righties may be more sporadic so long as the Nationals stay committed to giving third baseman Brady House regular starts.

  • Marcelo Mayer SS | BOS

Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: Sent to 60-day IL

The Red Sox transferred Mayer (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Mayer is out for the season after undergoing a right wrist arthroscopy last month, so his move to the 60-day injured list is merely a formality. The transaction clears room on the 40-man roster for catcher Ali Sanchez, whom the Red Sox acquired in a trade with the Mets on Sunday.

  • Orlando Arcia 3B | COL

Rockies' Orlando Arcia: Working in reserve role

Arcia went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Cubs.

Arcia has started every other game across Colorado's last six contests, filling in primarily at second base. He drew a start at third base Sunday and delivered an RBI single in the fourth inning. Arcia has gone 8-for-23 with five RBI and three runs scored since returning from the injured list Aug. 17.
