Giants' Matt Chapman: To begin rehab in one week
Chapman (hand) received good news from his visit with a specialist Friday and can begin rehabbing in about one week, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Buster Olney of ESPN reported earlier Friday that Chapman could be sidelined at least through the end of June due to sprained ligaments in his right hand. While the update from the hand specialist didn't move up Chapman's earliest return date, it certainly lessens the possibility of a long-term absence. The third baseman will have to wear a splint for the next week before beginning rehab. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Chapman to be back before the end of June, but it seems likely that he'll be back before the All-Star break.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Astros' Isaac Paredes: Getting MRI
Paredes (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Paredes is out of the Astros' lineup for a second consecutive game Friday due to an unspecified left hamstring injury. The third baseman will undergo further testing to provide more clarity surrounding the injury. Keep an eye out for a status update within the next 24 hours.

Miles Mastrobuoni 3B | SEA
Mariners' Miles Mastrobuoni: Sitting Friday
Mastrobuoni is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Guardians on Friday.
Mastrobuoni has been out of the lineup in three of the Mariners' last four games, and his playing time could diminish further with Luke Raley (oblique) close to returning from the 10-day injured list. Randy Arozarena, Julio Rodriguez and Dominic Canzone will start in the outfield for Seattle.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Taking seat Friday
Westburg isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.
Westburg went 3-for-11 with two homers and four RBI during his first series back from the injured list, and he'll now get a chance to rest during Friday's series opener. Ramon Urias will start at third base and bat seventh in Westburg's place.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Astros' Isaac Paredes: Out of lineup Friday
Paredes (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Paredes sustained a left hamstring injury during Thursday's game while trying to beat out a double-play ball. The issue will keep him out of the lineup for Friday's series opener against Minnesota. Mauricio Dubon will fill in at third base.

Ernie Clement 2B | TOR
Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: In lineup Friday
Clement (lower body) is batting fifth and playing third base Friday against Philadelphia.
Manager John Schneider said Wednesday that Clement was dealing with a lower-body injury, and after a team off day Thursday, Clement is back in the starting nine. He has a hit in six of his last seven games, going 9-for-30 (.300) with three doubles and a home run during that stretch.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Red Sox's Alex Bregman: Could skip rehab assignment
Bregman (quadriceps) said Friday he might skip a minor-league rehab assignment and is running at about 50 percent, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
Bregman opted not to provide a target return date, but the third baseman appears to be making good progress in his recovery from a strained right quad. If Bregman foregoes a rehab assignment, he could fast-track his return. Still, he seems to be multiple weeks out.

Marcelo Mayer 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: Idle against lefty
Mayer is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
Mayer will dodge a same-handed matchup against Ryan Yarbrough on Friday, as Abraham Toro fills in at third base and Romy Gonzalez plays first base. Mayer has been on the bench for each of Boston's last four games against lefties.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Giants' Matt Chapman: Visiting hand specialist
Chapman is visiting a specialist Friday regarding the sprained ligaments in his right hand, and he could be sidelined at least through the end of June, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.
The third baseman landed on the injured list Tuesday and has already indicated that he's likely to be sidelined beyond the 10-day minimum. Chapman said he hopes to return before the All-Star break, and Friday's visit could determine whether that's a realistic possibility. Casey Schmitt has made three straight starts at third base for the Giants with Chapman on the shelf.

Astros' Isaac Paredes: Suffers left hamstring injury
Paredes was pulled from Thursday's game against the White Sox due to a left hamstring injury, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
