Mariners' Weston Wilson: Contract selected by Seattle

The Mariners selected Wilson's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Wilson will return for his second stint in the majors this season, this time with a different team in Seattle. The 31-year-old appeared in 21 games with Baltimore before being designated for assignment June 6. Wilson slashed .231/.348/.33 with one homer in 46 plate appearances with the Orioles. Seattle designated Miles Mastrobuoni for assignment in order to make room for Wilson on the roster.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Resumes baseball activities

Hernandez (oblique) has started some baseball activities but remains in the early stages of his rehab, per MLB.com.

Hernandez suffered a "significant tear" of his left oblique May 26 in just his second game back after returning from a lengthy season-opening IL stint due to offseason elbow surgery. The super-utility man has been able to participate in some activities since landing on the IL for the second time, but he likely remains at least four weeks away from being able to return to big-league action.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: On bench again Friday

Garcia (hand) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals.

It's the third straight game on the bench for Garcia as he continues to manage soreness in his left hand. The 26-year-old departed Tuesday's matchup with the Nationals due to the injury, but it's actually a nagging issue that he's been dealing with throughout the past month. Nick Loftin is picking up another start at third base Friday.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Yankees' Ryan McMahon: Swats eighth homer Thursday

McMahon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run against the White Sox in a loss Thursday.

McMahon produced New York's only run of the game with a 430-foot blast in the third inning. It was the veteran third baseman's first extra-base hit since June 8, a span of eight games. Extending further, McMahon has batted just .233 with two homers and four RBI through 13 games in June. His .639 OPS over 67 contests is on pace for his career-worst mark over a full MLB season.

  • Colt Emerson SS | SEA

Mariners' Colt Emerson: Drives in two, swipes first bag

Emerson went 1-for-2 with a walk, two RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-0 win over Baltimore.

In his first plate appearance, Emerson lined a two-run single as part of a three-run frame that ultimately accounted for the game's only scoring. He also swiped his first base of the season in the first inning. The young infielder is batting 5-for-22 (.227) since returning to the lineup last week after missing a few games due to back spasms. On the season, Emerson is slashing .235/.309/.529 with six home runs, five doubles, a triple, 16 RBI and 13 runs across 26 contests.

  • Donovan Walton 3B | ATH

Angels' Donovan Walton: Sitting again Thursday

Walton is not in the starting lineup Thursday night against the Athletics, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Walton will remain on the bench for the second game in a row as the Angels face another southpaw. Gage Jump will be on the bump for the A's, and Oswald Peraza will start at designated hitter and bat fifth in the series opener.

  • Caleb Durbin 3B | BOS

Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Returns to lineup

Durbin started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Toronto.

Durbin snapped an 0-for-16 stretch with an eighth-inning home run that tied the game at 3-3. Other than a recent surge of offense -- he went 15-for-44 (.341) with eight extra-base hits and nine RBI over 12 games from May 28 to June 10 -- Durbin has been a non-factor at the dish. He's slashing .190/.250/.307 over 64 contests during his first season with the Red Sox.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Remaining out of lineup

Garcia (hand) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Cardinals.

Garcia will miss a second straight start due to left hand soreness. The injury forced Garcia from Tuesday's game against the Nationals, but it's something he's dealt with off-and-on for the past month. Consider him day-to-day. Nick Loftin will get another start at third base in Garcia's stead.

  • David Hamilton 3B | MIL

Brewers' David Hamilton: Heading to bench Thursday

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

The Brewers will send the Hamilton to the bench for the series finale along with fellow left-handed hitters Sal Frelick and Garrett Mitchell while Milwaukee stocks up on some extra right-handed bats to counter Guardians southpaw Parker Messick. Hamilton had started in Milwaukee's last seven games, going 3-for-20 at the dish over that stretch to bring his batting average down to .230 for the season.

  • Weston Wilson 3B | SEA

Mariners' Weston Wilson: Catches on with Seattle

The Mariners signed Wilson to a minor-league contract Sunday and assigned him to Triple-A Tacoma.

Wilson has gotten off to a hot start at the plate since reporting to Tacoma earlier this week, going 6-for-9 with a double, a walk and a pair of stolen bases in his first two games. The 31-year-old had previously spent the start of the season with the Orioles, slashing .231/.348/.333 over 46 plate appearances in 21 games before being pushed off the 40-man roster earlier this month and electing free agency upon clearing waivers.
