Candelario (finger) will bat fifth and start at third base for Thursday's series finale against Boston.

Candelario suffered a jammed right middle finger during Tuesday's contest but will return to the starting nine after sitting out Wednesday. Over the course of 50 games this season, Candelario is hitting .267/.361/.513 with nine home runs and 26 RBI.

Segura went 3-for-5 with an RBI single, a stolen base and a run in a loss to the Astros on Wednesday.

As good as he's been offensively over the previous two seasons in particular, Segura is seemingly on another level in 2018. Wednesday's multi-hit effort -- his second consecutive and sixth over the last nine games -- brought his season line to an impressive .339/.358/.486, with the first two figures qualifying as team bests. Moreover, his 39 RBI place him second behind only Mitch Haniger on the Mariners, and they're also just six shy of the total he amassed last season in 302 additional plate appearances. Segura has even improved in his proficiency on the basepaths, as his current 81.3 percent stolen-base success rate represents an eight-point improvement over last season's total.

Rendon went 4-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and four runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Rays.

Rendon's big day came on his 28th birthday. The third baseman put the Nationals up early with his two-run double in the first inning, and he helped extend the lead with an RBI double in the sixth frame. Rendon, who had just one hit through 16 at-bats this month prior to Wednesday's four-hit performance, is now slashing .268/.345/.471 with six homers, 20 RBI and 18 runs through 41 games.

Maggi was activated from suspension Wednesday.

Maggi will join Triple-A Columbus after serving a 50-game suspension for testing positive for Amphetamine. The 29-year-old, who has yet to reach the majors, hit .271/.367/.392 across 84 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2017.

Candelario (finger) isn't in Wednesday's starting lineup against Boston.

Candelario left Tuesday's game early with a jammed right middle finger, and the injury is likely still bothering him, as Ronny Rodriguez is penciled into the lineup at third base. Candelario will be available off the bench if needed and figures to return within the next few days.

Walding was sent back down to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Walding was optioned in a corresponding move to J.P. Crawford's return from the 10-day disabled list (forearm). Over three games with the Phillies, Walding went 0-for-6 with six strikeouts. The 25-year-old has been productive at the Triple-A level this season and will likely continue to remain with the IronPigs barring another injury to a big-league regular in Philadelphia's infield.

Anderson went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals.

Anderson's third homer of the year was a two-run shot in the fifth inning, and he also drove in a third run earlier in the tilt after legging out an infield single. The 25-year-old has reeled off three straight multi-hit games and has multiple hits in six of his last eight. Boosted by this latest stretch, Anderson is slashing .298/.371/.418 and figures to continue hitting in the heart of the Miami lineup.

Moncada went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, a stolen base and a solo home run in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Twins.

Moncada started the game with a 433-foot bomb to center field in the top of the first inning, and his stolen base in the fifth helped manufacture another run. The 23-year-old now has a .247/.327/.444 slash line with eight home runs, seven stolen bases and 75 strikeouts in 198 at-bats this season.

Escobar went 5-for-8 with three doubles, a home run and five RBI across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Escobar powered the Twins' offense Tuesday, driving home all but two of their runs in the doubleheader. The 29-year-old is 12-for-28 with five doubles, four home runs and 13 RBI over his last seven games.

Davis was optioned to Triple-A Fresno on Tuesday, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Davis' recent stint in the majors will be short lived as he'll now head back to Fresno in order to open up a roster spot for Josh Reddick's activation from the disabled list Wednesday. Davis went 3-for-21 following his most recent promotion May 20.
