  • Connor Norby 2B | MIA

    Marlins' Connor Norby: Idle Monday

Norby is not in the Marlins' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Monday.

Norby will begin Monday's game in the dugout while Graham Pauley starts at the hot corner and bats ninth. Norby 3-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's loss to the Mariners has an .828 OPS in 35 plate appearances this season.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Cleared to start Monday

Jung (finger) will start at third base and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Athletics.

Jung exited early in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Giants after sustaining a cut on his index finger, but after receiving treatment for the injury, he looks like he'll be ready to go for the series opener versus the Athletics. The 27-year-old heads into Monday's contest with a five-game hitting streak.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Deemed day-to-day

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde classified Westburg as day-to-day Monday due to a sore hamstring, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports. "We're staying optimistic and hopeful," Hyde said of Westburg's status.

Westburg is out of the lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Yankees, marking his second consecutive absence due to the hamstring issue. According to Jake Rill of MLB.com, Westburg is scheduled to undergo further testing Monday as the Orioles look to gain a better understanding regarding the extent of his injury. If the MRI reveals a strain, the 26-year-old infielder could require a stint on the injured list.

  • Yankees' Oswaldo Cabrera: Taking seat Monday

Cabrera is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Cabrera appears to be receiving a routine day off after he had started each of the last 10 games while going 10-for-36 with three extra-base hits and five walks. Oswald Peraza will replace him as the Yankees' starting third baseman and No. 9 hitter, but Cabrera's spot atop the depth chart appears secure. DJ LeMahieu (calf) is in the midst of a rehab assignment and should return from the 10-day injured list soon, but after posting a career-worst .528 OPS in 2024, it's unclear if he'll be able to unseat Cabrera as the Yankees' preferred option at the hot corner.

  • Brooks Lee SS | MIN

Twins' Brooks Lee: Grabbing seat Monday

Lee is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Cleveland.

It looks to be a routine day off for Lee, who had started each of the previous seven contests. Jonah Bride is handling third base and batting eighth for the Twins on Monday.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Remains out Monday

Westburg (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game versus the Yankees, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

It's the second straight start he's missed due to a sore hamstring. Westburg was reportedly available off the bench Sunday and should be again Monday, so a stint on the injured list looks unlikely at the moment. Ramos Urias is at third base and batting seventh in Monday's series opener.

  • Connor Norby 2B | MIA

Marlins' Connor Norby: Impactful day at plate Sunday

Norby went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Mariners.

Norby posted his second three-hit game of the season, but this one included a three-run blast to bring the Marlins within one after they were down 7-2. The long ball knocked in his first runs of the season and all three of his hits had an exit velocity of 99 MPH or higher. Norby has swung the bat well since missing the first couple weeks of the season with an oblique issue, slashing .303/.343/.485, though he's yet to draw a walk in 35 plate appearances.

  • Josh H. Smith SS | TEX

Rangers' Josh Smith: Moves to third base

Smith started at shortstop Sunday then moved to third base when Josh Jung left with a finger injury.

Smith had been filling in for an injured Corey Seager (hamstring) before covering third base. Jung believes he'll be able to play Monday, per Henry Schulman of MLB.com. If Jung is unavailable, then Smith could move to third base while Nick Ahmed starts at shortstop.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Stays hot in win

Baez went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 7-0 win over the Orioles.

Baez opened the scoring with a two-run, two-out double off Dean Kremer in the second inning. He'd add another hit in the seventh before swiping his first base this season. Baez has been swinging the bat well recently, going 11-for-32 (.344) over his last 10 contests. After batting just .184 with a .515 OPS last year over 80 regular-season games, Baez is now slashing .301/.346/.370 with seven RBI and seven runs scored through his first 78 plate appearances this season.

  • Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Continues hot play Sunday

Marte went 3-for-5 with two steals, a double and three RBI in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Rockies.

The 23-year-old third baseman capped off a brilliant weekend in Colorado by notching his second career multi-steal game. In the three-game series at Coors Field, Marte batted .467 (7-for-15) with a homer, a double and seven RBI. Overall, he has opened the season with a .364/.404/.659 slash line with three homers, four steals, 15 RBI and eight runs scored across 47 plate appearances.
