Candelario will start at third base and serve as the Tigers' leadoff hitter in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Red Sox, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Candelario had led off on two other occasions this season, but both came when Josh Harrison was receiving the day off for rest purposes. The struggling Harrison will be included in the lineup as the No. 7 hitter for the front end of the twin bill, however, signaling that Candelario may represent the Tigers' new top option atop the batting order. Candelario has only managed a .614 OPS through his first 79 plate appearances, but that's still far better than what Harrison (.384 OPS) has been able to provide thus far.

Devers is out of the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Tigers, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

With southpaw Matthew Boyd on the bump for Detroit, the lefty-hitting Devers will rest for the first game of the twin bill, allowing rookie Michael Chavis to pick up a start at the hot corner. Devers is reaching base at an impressive .356 clip this season, but his lack of power production to date has been somewhat concerning. He has yet to slug a home run in 88 plate appearances and owns a 1.1 percent barrel rate, which ranks 314th among the 375 players in the majors who have produced at least 10 batted-ball events this season.

Escobar went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two RBI-singles in a 12-4 victory against the Pirates on Monday.

The 30-year-old was approaching the Mendoza Line in the middle of April, but over the last nine games, he is hitting .313 with two home runs and six RBI. That's raised his overall season average to .247. Escobar is about where he needs to be with three home runs this month as well. He smashed three or four bombs in each month last year on his way to 23 homers. With three home runs in 85 at-bats, Escobar is on track for his third straight 20-homer season. In addition to three bombs, he has 12 RBI and 10 runs in 23 games.

Segura (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list in time for Saturday's game against Miami, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Segura landed on the injured list with a left hamstring strain, but his time on the shelf appears to be coming to an end. Barring any setbacks, the veteran shortstop should return to the starting lineup after missing the minimum.

Arenado went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, two RBI and three runs in Colorado's 7-5 victory over the Nationals on Monday.

Arenado's early season slump is looking like a thing of the past, as he now has three multi-hit games and all four of his home runs on the season over his last seven games. The hot streak moves the slugging third baseman's slash line up to .281/.337/.483 over 89 at-bats, and those numbers are likely to keep rising as he finds his groove at the plate.

Paredes is slashing .265/.328/.367 through 13 games at Double-A Erie with one home run and 10 RBI.

The batting average is fine and in line with his career mark of .270, but Paredes has seen his slugging percentage drop from .458 in 39 games at Double-A last year to .367 so far this season. The 20-year-old has a career .419 slugging percentage in the minors across four professional seasons, so he will likely begin driving the ball more as the season progresses.

LeMahieu is not in the lineup Monday against the Angels.

LeMahieu will head to the bench for what appears to be a regular day off after starting the past 20 games for the Yankees, slashing .306/.366/.431 with a homer and 10 RBI during those contests. Gio Urshela will start at third base in this one, with Tyler Wade manning the keystone.

Rendon (elbow) remains out of the lineup Monday against the Rockies, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Rendon took a pitch off his elbow Saturday against the Marlins and has yet to get back on the field. Howie Kendrick starts at third base for the second straight game.

Davis is expected to lose at-bats with Todd Frazier returning from his oblique injury Monday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Davis may be playing well enough to avoid a true bench role, but he certainly won't keep up the pace which saw him start 15 of the Mets' first 21 games. He looked good when given regular playing time, hitting .273/.385/.491 with three homers and an equal number of walks and strikeouts (10).

Moustakas (finger) remains out of the lineup Monday against the Cardinals.

Moustakas has a fractured finger but reportedly won't need to head to the injured list. Hernan Perez starts at second base for the third straight game in his absence.
