Longoria went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-5 victory over the Padres.

Longoria is having himself a series against the Padres, going 7-for-13 with a whopping four homers and nine RBI over the three-game set. The 33-year-old's power binge couldn't have come at a better time, as he was ceding a bit of playing time at the hot corner to Pablo Sandoval's hot bat prior to this series. Longoria's overall slash line remains mediocre (.238/.315/.433), but he has been playing better over his last 20 contests (.269/.347/.522).

Anderson (elbow) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

As anticipated, Anderson will be on the bench for a second straight day with the bruised right elbow, which impacts his ability to throw. The Marlins deployed Anderson in a pinch-hitting capacity in Wednesday's 3-1 loss, which at least offers some optimism about his chances of avoiding the injured list. Yadiel Rivera will spell Anderson at the hot corner in the series finale Thursday.

Moncada went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Tigers.

Moncada became the 10th player in franchise history to go yard from both sides of the plate in the same game. He got the White Sox on the board in the first inning with a solo shot from the right side of the plate, then hit a game-tying homer in the 10th inning from the left. In between, he knocked in a third run via a sacrifice fly. He now has 16 homers on the season, one shy of the career high he posted in 2018. The third baseman has hit safely in all four games since returning from a knee injury.

Riley went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 9-2 win over the Phillies.

Riley's three-run blast during the sixth inning chased Phillies starter Nick Pivetta and helped the Braves take control with a four-run cushion. The 22-year-old is slashing .266/.317/.578 with 15 home runs through his first 45 major-league games and has shown no signs of slowing down.

Bregman went 1-for-2 with two walks, a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Rockies.

He got the Astros on the board with a first-inning blast, and Bregman got very little to hit the rest of the night. The 25-year-old is now slashing .267/.392/.541 on the year with 23 homers, four steals, 55 RBI and 58 runs through 85 games.

Urshela went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Mets.

Urshela appeared to sustain an injury as he slowly rounded the bases on his sixth-inning homer, but he was just dealing with a cramp and never exited the contest, per Mike Mazzeo of Yahoo Sports. Urshela has taken advantage of the numerous injuries to the Yankees' lineup this season and is slashing .307/.357/.472 in 68 games.

Davis was not available for Wednesday's loss against the Yankees due to an illness, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Davis may not have been in the lineup regardless, but he likely would have been used as a pinch hitter at some point. The 26-year-old will have Thursday's scheduled off day to recover before the Mets begin a series against the Phillies on Friday.

Donaldson went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, a walk and two runs overall in Wednesday's 9-2 win over Philadelphia.

Donaldson broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning with his 404-foot shot to center field, and the Braves never surrendered the lead. The veteran third baseman entered the contest in a 3-for-25 slump, but he busted out of it in fine fashion with Wednesday's performance.

Farmer got his first start at catcher on Tuesday night, going 0-for-2 before being lifted for a pinch-hitter. He received passing marks for his defense and pitch-calling, John Fay of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

There was some concern about Farmer's game-calling given his absence from catching, but he did well. "He looked really good," Reds manager David Bell said. "If I wasn't intentional about watching him close, I wouldn't have noticed him back there in a good way. He looked like a Major League catcher. I thought he did a good job of receiving. He handled the game. He had a good presence back there. He called a good game. He did everything. We were confident going in, having gotten him through a game, we feel even better now."

Anderson is banged up after colliding with the outfield wall Tuesday. His elbow is still bothering him on throws, though the Marlins don't believe he's facing an extended absence.
