Nevin's contract was selected by the Rockies on Wednesday.

The move protects the 22-year-old from being exposed to the Rule 5 draft. His .251/.345/.399 slash line for Double-A Hartford last season was good enough for a 122 wRC+, but he still likely needs time at the Triple-A level before earning his first career callup.

Paredes was added to the Tigers' 40-man roster on Wednesday, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.

This move protects him from the Rule 5 draft. While he does not turn 21 until February, Paredes already has 166 games under his belt at Double-A, hitting .291/.376/.425 with 16 home runs and six steals over that stretch. He has a good command of the strike zone, but at 5-foot-11, 225 pounds, he is not a good defender and is a below-average runner, so his bat will really need to carry him. Fortunately, the Tigers have very little standing in his way on the big-league roster, so Paredes seems like the third baseman of the future. He should spend most of the year at Triple-A and could debut in the second half.

Reynolds signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Saturday.

After seeing some major-league action in the three years prior to 2019, Reynolds played solely with Triple-A Fresno last season. He hit .295/.401/.521 with 16 home runs and 55 RBI over 111 games in 2019. The 28-year-old will likely serve as organizational depth within the Royals organization, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him get some playing time in the majors given his past experience.

Rendon rejected a qualifying offer from the Nationals on Thursday, making him a free agent, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

The finalist for the National League MVP will likely receive much more than the one-year, $17.8 million price tag associated with the qualifying offer, so it isn't surprising to see Rendon enter free agency. The Nationals will receive draft-pick compensation if Rendon signs elsewhere, but the market for the 29-year-old should still be appealing.

Donaldson rejected his qualifying offer Thursday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

The move isn't entirely surprising, as Donaldson could be in line for a big payday after playing on a one-year deal with the Braves last year. The 33-year-old rebounded from a disappointing 2018 season by hitting .259/.379/.521 with 37 home runs and 94 RBI in 2019.

Rendon received a qualifying offer from Washington on Monday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Rendon is due to make far more than the one-year, $17.8 million that the qualifying offer entails. The team who signs him will now have to give up a draft pick, with the Nationals set to receive draft-pick compensation, though that won't dull the star third baseman's market by a meaningful amount.

Donaldson received a qualifying offer from the Braves on Monday.

Donaldson may be heading into his age-34 season, but he should still be worth far more than one year and $17.8 million after hitting .259/.379/.521 with 37 homers last season. The Braves likely don't expect anything more than draft-pick compensation from their offer.

Moustakas declined his mutual option for 2020 and will become a free agent.

This move was expected, especially after Moustakas slugged 35 homers and drove in 87 runs over 143 games last season for the Brewers. There will likely be a high demand for the veteran third baseman on the open market.

Anderson (finger) was activated from the injured list Friday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

The move doesn't necessarily mean Anderson is healthy, as players can't be on the injured list over the offseason. Still, Anderson should be ready by spring training given that he avoided surgery on the fractured finger he suffered in late August.

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 7-2 loss to Washington in Game 6 of the World Series on Tuesday.

Bregman's homer in the first inning staked the Astros to a 2-1 lead and was his third long ball of the World Series. He also reached on an infield single in the sixth inning. The 25-year-old has had multi-hit efforts in two of the last three games but is still hitting just .231 (6-for-26) in the World Series.
