Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Athletics' Matt Chapman: Frustrating start to season
Chapman, who entered Sunday's action 1-for-9 over his first two games, is also showing some signs of frustration with his future financial outlook, Shayna Rubin of the Marin Independent Journal reports.
Chapman is under team control through 2023, was originally on the books for a modest $623,500 this season (now prorated to $230,926) per Spotrac and isn't slated for unrestricted free agency until he's 30. That's a frustrating overall outlook for a player that, this year's slow start (1-for-9) over a very modest two-game sample notwithstanding, has outpaced his current compensation with 60 home runs, 159 RBI and a pair of Gold Gloves over his first two full seasons as an everyday player. However, the Athletics, already notorious for a conservative financial approach when it comes to doling out big paydays, could become even more prudent in that regard in light of their likely significant revenue losses in 2020. Chapman notably stated "it's every player's goal to get to free agency and be able to choose where you go" during a recent appearance on ESPN's Opening Night broadcast of the Dodgers-Giants game, lending credence to the notion he's playing with his financial future already weighing fairly heavily on his mind.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Lands on IL
Moustakas (illness) was placed on the injured list Sunday.
He woke up under the weather and was therefore scratched from Sunday's lineup. The fact that the Reds did not specify which injured list Moustakas was placed on suggests it was probably the COVID-19 injured list, although we do not have official confirmation. Josh VanMeter should act as the primary second baseman in the short term.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Scratched from Sunday's lineup
Senzel was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Tigers.
This is the third iteration of the Reds lineup we've seen today, as Mike Moustakas was scratched after feeling under the weather and now Senzel follows suit, although the reason for his removal is unclear. Freddy Galvis moves up to the No. 7 spot in the order while Travis Jankowski slots into the eight hole while starting in center field.

Willians Astudillo 3B | MIA
Twins' Willians Astudillo: Cleared to join alternate site
Astudillo has been cleared to rejoin the Twins at their alternate training site, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Astudillo tested negative on back-to-back coronavirus tests, so he has been cleared. He will look to knock off any rust and get back up to speed before potentially joining the 30-man roster in the coming days.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Under the weather
Moustakas, who was scratched from Sunday's lineup, woke up not feeling well, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. "We're just being overly cautious," manager David Bell said. "If there's any doubt, we stay home."
Moustakas will undoubtedly be tested for the coronavirus and will rejoin the team once he feels up to it and tests negative. In the meantime, Josh VanMeter should see the bulk of the starts at the keystone.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: No setbacks after warmup
Rendon (oblique) fielded groundballs and took batting practice prior to Saturday's game and reportedly felt good, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Rendon continues to work his way back from the oblique issue he suffered near the end of summer camp. Manager Joe Maddon indicated that Rendon will increase his work Sunday, so the third baseman appears to be close to making his regular-season debut with the club. "He's definitely trending in the right direction," said Maddon.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Day off Sunday
Moncada is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Twins.
Moncada is off to a strong start through the season's first two games (4-for-9 with a home run, two doubles and four RBI), but he'll receive a breather Sunday. Danny Mendick will receive the start at the hot corner and bat eighth in the series finale.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Late add to Sunday's lineup
Senzel was a late addition to Sunday's lineup and is starting in center field while batting seventh against the Tigers.
Mike Moustakas was scratched for an undisclosed reason, so there was a lineup shuffle with Senzel getting added into the mix after originally being slated for a day off.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Scratched from Sunday's lineup
Moustakas was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Tigers.
It is unclear why Moustakas was scratched from the lineup. Josh VanMeter, who was originally tabbed to DH, will slide to the keystone while Jesse Winker moves from left field to DH and Nick Senzel enters the lineup in center field.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Pirates' Kevin Newman: Out of Sunday's lineup
Newman is not in Sunday's lineup against the Cardinals.
He is 1-for-8 with a strikeout through two games. Erik Gonzales will start in his stead and bat ninth.
