Suarez left Friday's game against the Rockies in the fifth inning due to a cut finger he originally sustained in a "cooking accident" Thursday night, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. Manager David Bell said Suarez can play Saturday's game.

It sounds like he won't miss any further time due to the cut finger. He went 1-for-2 with a double prior to exiting.

Moustakas (heel) was running the bases and taking grounders at third base Friday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Manager David Bell said last weekend the 32-year-old was about a week away from a rehab assignment, though there's been no additional indication the infielder is set to begin said assignment. Moustakas has been sidelined since May 18 due to a bruised right heel, so he shouldn't need significant time in the minors before being activated.

Candelario (personal) will rejoin the Tigers sometime this weekend and is expected to be activated from the bereavement list Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

The 27-year-old was placed on the bereavement list Tuesday and will need to go throught he COVID-19 protocols once he rejoins the team. Harold Castro and Isaac Paredes are likely to work at third base until Candelario is ready to go.

Paredes is starting at shortstop Friday against the White Sox.

Paredes' starting nod at shortstop comes as a bit of a surprise given that he was called up to fill in for Jeimer Candelario (personal) at third base, and is widely expected to see the bulk of his innings at the hot corner or second base in the coming years. Per Evan Woodbery of MLive.com, manager A.J. Hinch wants to give Paredes a look at shortstop, saying the prospect received "favorable reviews" during his time at the position in the minors.

Urshela went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a triple in Thursday's loss to the Twins.

Urshela helped New York build an early lead with a solo shot to left field in the fourth inning. Prior to that, he collected his second career triple -- and first since his rookie 2015 campaign -- in the first frame. Urshela has remained a steady bat in the Yankees' lineup this season, slashing .278/.323/.444 with seven homers, 27 RBI and 11 doubles.

Sosa will not start Friday's game against the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Sosa started 22 straight games at shortstop while Paul DeJong (ribs) was injured. He hit fairly well over that stretch, posting a .286/.360/.390 slash line with one homer and two steals, but with DeJong now back from the injured list there don't appear to be starts available for him going forward.

Donaldson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Thursday's win over the Yankees.

Donaldson entered the ninth having gone 0-for-3 and stepped to the plate with Jorge Polanco on first, and the veteran infielder took Aroldis Chapman's four-seam fastball deep to tie the game. Donaldson now has three home runs over his last six games and has hit safely in four of those contests, as he's beginning to turn things around following a couple of rough weeks at the plate.

Segura went 3-for-5 with three RBI and a double Thursday against Atlanta.

Segura has collected at least one hit in six of his last eight games. He entered the contest having driven in only one run in that span, though he delivered a two-RBI walk-off single in the 10th inning Thursday. For the season, Segura is hitting .323/.377/.455 with 22 runs scored and 16 RBI across 183 plate appearances.

The White Sox placed Madrigal on the 60-day injured list Thursday with a proximal tear of his right hamstring.

Madrigal was removed from Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays with right hamstring tightness after he was hurt while running to first base in the seventh inning. After getting re-evaluated, the 24-year-old received a new diagnosis for his injury, which will necessitate a recovery period of at least two months. The White Sox haven't ruled out Madrigal from undergoing surgery, so he could be at risk of missing the remainder of the season. Danny Mendick and Leury Garcia should see increased time at second base going forward, while outfielder Brian Goodwin's contract was selected by the White Sox in a corresponding move.

Muncy (ankle) will start at first base and bat second Thursday against the Pirates, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Just as manager Dave Roberts suggested would be the case, Muncy will return to the starting nine for the series finale after the Dodgers elected to hold the 30-year-old out of action for Wednesday's 2-1 win to receive some extra maintenance for his sore right ankle. Though Muncy is expected to fill a regular role moving forward, he still has yet to regain full lateral mobility due to the ankle issue, so the Dodgers will likely limit him to playing first base for the time being. Muncy previously made 15 starts at second base this season.
