Robinson announced his retirement Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Robinson began the 2021 campaign with Triple-A Sacramento and hit .128 across 35 games, but he'll now hang up his cleats to join the Giants' front office following his return to baseball across the past few years. The 29-year-old appeared in 100 major-league games with the Rangers and Cardinals during his career and slashed .202/.296/.359 with nine home runs, 32 runs and 22 RBI.

Longoria (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday.

Longoria was able to increase his baseball activity prior to the All-Star break, and the team was hoping he'd be able to return early in the second half. However, the 35-year-old will now be sidelined until at least early August following his move to the 60-day IL. It's not yet clear when the third baseman could begin a rehab assignment.

Rendon (hamstring) recently suffered a setback in his recovery and won't return for at least a couple more weeks, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Rendon landed on the 10-day IL with a left hamstring strain July 6, and manager Joe Maddon said that the third baseman likely won't return until late July or early August. While Maddon didn't sound too concerned about the setback, Rendon will require more time on the shelf before he's cleared to return.

Vosler was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Vosler was recalled July 6 and wound up going 0-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored across five pinch-hit appearances. He'll head back to Sacramento for the time being, with Mike Tauchman (knee) being reinstated from the 10-day IL in a corresponding roster move.

Davis (hand) was activated from the 60-day injured list Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

It was reported Thursday that the 28-year-old traveled with the team to Pittsburgh, so it's not much of a surprise to see him make his return from the injured list. Davis could end up splitting time at third base with Jonathan Villar, who starts at the hot corner Friday.

Anderson (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.

Anderson has been out since late May with a left shoulder subluxation. The long absence means he's in line for a fairly lengthy rehab assignment, especially as he's been placed on the 60-day injured list and is ineligible to return before July 25.

Maton was scratched from the lineup for the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Marlins with a laceration on his right middle finger, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Maton was penciled in to start at third base, but he was scratched after suffering the finger laceration during batting practice. The 24-year-old should be considered day-to-day, and it's unclear if he'll be available off the bench Friday in either game. Ronald Torreyes will take over at the hot corner.

Urshela is on the COVID-19 injured list after testing positive for the virus Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Urshela is one of six confirmed positive cases for the Yankees coming out of the All-Star break. He'll be out for at least 10 days and will need to clear the health and safety protocols before being able to rejoin the team. DJ LeMahieu figures to see more action at third base in Urshela's absence, which should lead to more opportunities at the keystone for Rougned Odor and Tyler Wade.

Paredes was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

The 22-year-old was sent to Triple-A in late June but will rejoin the Tigers to open the second half of the season. Paredes is 5-for-29 with a homer, four RBI and three runs in 11 major-league games in 2021, but more playing time should be available at the keystone with Willi Castro optioned to Toledo in a corresponding move.

Davis (hand) traveled to Pittsburgh with the team and will be activated from the injured list before Friday's game, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

A return immediately after the All-Star break was expected for Davis, though this news confirms that expectation. He's been on the injured list since May 3 and played in 10 rehab games since June 27. Davis should be penciled in as the Mets' starting third baseman, likely hurting Jonathan Villar's potential for playing time.
