The Diamondbacks selected Vargas from Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Vargas hasn't appeared at the MLB level since June 18, at which point he had managed a .137/.200/.176 slash line in 55 plate appearances with the Cubs, Pirates and Diamondbacks. He figures to serve as additional infield depth for however long he's on the big-league roster.

Paredes was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

The 22-year-old has been in the minors during the past month after recovering from a hip injury, and he'll rejoin the Tigers on Sunday with Derek Hill (knee) and Gregory Soto (finger) heading to the injured list.

Muncy is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

It appears to be a regular day off for Muncy, who's gone 0-for-7 with six strikeouts in his last two games. Albert Pujols is playing first base and batting cleanup for the series finale.

Devers went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's 9-3 win over Baltimore.

Devers got the Red Sox on the board in the first inning, singling home Enrique Hernandez to cut the Orioles' lead to 2-1. He later added a double and another single for his first multi-hit game in nearly two weeks. Devers has gone yard just twice in his last 18 games, but he's still slashing a terrific .274/.351/.532 with 34 homers and 104 RBI in 612 plate appearances on the year.

Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, three runs scored and a pair of walks in Saturday's 11-3 win over the Yankees.

Ramirez put the finishing touches on Cleveland's offensive outburst, taking Andrew Heaney deep to left field in the eighth inning to make it an 11-1 game. It was the 34th long ball of the year for Ramirez, who is nine RBI away from reaching the century mark for the second time in his career. The 29-year-old superstar has put together hits in four consecutive games, going 6-for-13 (.462) during that stretch.

Donaldson went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Blue Jays.

Donaldson homered yet again off the Blue Jays on Saturday, taking Steven Matz deep in the first inning to give the Twins a 2-0 lead. The 35-year-old will have plenty more opportunities to enact revenge against his former team this season, as Minnesota and Toronto will meet five more times before the year is out.

Longoria is out of the lineup Saturday against Atlanta, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

Longoria started the last three games and will receive a day off after going 3-for-12 with a home run, two doubles, a walk and two RBI. Kris Bryant will take over at the hot corner while Steven Dugger starts in the outfield.

Walls was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers due to illness, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Walls hasn't been placed on the COVID-19 injured list, so there's yet to be any indication that this is anything other than a normal sickness. Joey Wendle will take over at shortstop.

McMahon will start at third base and hit sixth in Saturday's game against the Nationals.

McMahon draws the start even with a lefty on the mound, typically a spot for Colton Welker to pick up playing time at the hot corner. McMahon has hit well of late, collecting eight hits in his last 27 at-bats while homering twice, driving in four and scoring six runs.

Maggi's contract was selected by the Twins on Saturday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.

The 32-year-old was drafted all the way back in 2010 but has yet to make his major-league debut. He'll get his chance after hitting .261/.364/.486 with 16 homers and 12 steals in 86 games for Triple-A St. Paul, though his 31.0 percent strikeout rate suggests that expectations for him should be modest.
