Devers (hamstring) is expected to return to action Tuesday against the Astros, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Devers landed on the injured list in late July, and it appears he will not miss more than the minimum 10 days he was required to sit out.

Riley signed a 10-year, $212 million contract extension with Atlanta on Monday.

Riley has followed up a stellar 2021 season with an even better campaign, as he's established himself as a potential National League MVP candidate by producing a .301/.360/.604 slash line to go with 29 home runs, 68 RBI and 61 runs through 436 plate appearances. Atlanta will keep the 25-year-old in the fold through 2032, and perhaps another year should the team exercise a $20 million club option for 2033. With Riley under contract for the next decade, he'll man the hot corner and occupy a prominent spot in Atlanta's batting order for years to come.

Bregman was placed on the paternity list Monday.

Bregman was scratched from Monday's lineup in order to be with his wife, and he wound up being excused from the team for the next 1-to-3 days. Taylor Jones was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land to take Bregman's place on the roster.

Nevin isn't in the lineup Monday against the Rangers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Nevin should see additional playing time for the Orioles after Trey Mancini was dealt to the Astros on Monday, but Nevin will take a seat for Monday's series opener in Texas. Ryan Mountcastle is starting at first base while Terrin Vavra enters the lineup in left field.

Vargas' contract was selected by the Nationals on Monday.

Vargas will serve as a utility man for Washington after the team traded Ehire Adrianza to Atlanta on Monday. Vargas appeared in 30 major-league games with the Cubs earlier in the year and slashed .130/.231/.348 with a homer, a triple, four runs and four RBI.

Bernabel is hitting .359/.370/.551 with three homers and two steals through 19 games for High-A Spokane.

So far, he's been even better in High-A than Single-A, but that comes with the caveat of a .397 BABIP at the new level. Bernabel has made contact at an excellent rate at both levels while flashing solid pop and stolen-base ability, making him a solid dynasty add in deeper formats.

Bregman is not dealing with any sort of injury, but his wife went into labor with the couple's child, and he will leave the team for the time being to be with her. Aledmys Diaz will take Bregman's place at third base, and Chas McCormick will replace Diaz in left field.

LeMahieu went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to Kansas City.

A day after swatting his 10th homer of the season, LeMahieu belted blast No. 11 off Zack Greinke in the fifth inning Sunday. This was the first time this season that the veteran infielder has gone deep in consecutive contests. LeMahieu enjoyed a productive July, slashing .344/.462/.490 with four homers, 11 RBI, two stolen bases and a 20:14 BB:K over 25 games.

Anderson (shoulder) is scheduled to do some soft tossing Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Anderson doesn't seem to have made substantial progress in his recovery from his left shoulder sprain since landing on the injured list July 24, but his ability to do some throwing Monday at least suggests that he's no longer shut down. A timeline for his return from the IL likely won't come into focus until he's able to resume full baseball activities.

The Twins reinstated Urshela (personal) from the paternity list ahead of Monday's game against the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Urshela spent the maximum three days away from the team while observing the birth of his child. Now that he's back with the Twins, the new father should settle back into a near-everyday role at third base as the team begins a seven-game week.
