Farmer went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Cubs.

Farmer took an 0-1 sinker from Adrian Sampson over the left field fence for his 10th home run of the season to get the Reds on the board. The 32-year-old has scored in each of his last four games and has four RBI in that span. He is now eight runs shy of his career high of 60 and has tied his career high of 63 RBI.

Peterson isn't in the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Giants.

Peterson sat against a left-handed pitcher during Thursday's matinee and will remain on the bench for the nightcap since southpaw Alex Young is beginning the game on the mound for San Francisco. Mike Brosseau will remain at third base and lead off.

Mead has been shut down for the remainder of the season due to a forearm/elbow injury, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Mead missed nearly a month between July and August due to a right elbow strain. While he apparently isn't dealing with any further damage, he received an injection to help his recovery process and won't rush back to the field prior to the end of the minor-league season. The 21-year-old appeared in 76 games between the Double-A and Triple-A clubs this year and slashed .298/.390/.532 with 13 home runs, 50 RBI, 43 runs and seven stolen bases.

Manager Aaron Boone said LeMahieu (toe) will be placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

The veteran infielder has been nursing a toe injury for a while and missed both games of Wednesday's doubleheader. The Yankees are now running thin on available infielders, and Miguel Andujar was promoted in a corresponding move.

Longoria isn't in the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Brewers, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Longoria started the last three games and went just 1-for-13 with four strikeouts. David Villar will start at the hot corner and bat seventh during Thursday's matinee.

Peterson isn't starting the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against San Francisco.

Peterson has started against just three left-handed pitchers this season, and he'll be out of the lineup for Thursday's matinee since southpaw Scott Alexander is on the mound for the Giants. Mike Brosseau is starting at third base and leading off.

Wisdom (finger) will take batting practice on the field ahead of Thursday's game against the Reds, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Wisdom took swings in the batting cage Wednesday and will face live pitching a day later. The 31-year-old is eligible to return from the injured list as soon as he's deemed fully healthy, but it's not yet clear whether he'll require a brief rehab assignment prior to returning to game action in the majors.

Madrigal isn't starting Thursday against the Reds.

Madrigal started the last two games and went 2-for-9 with a double, two RBI, a steal, a walk and a strikeout. Zach McKinstry will take his place at second base and lead off.

Senzel (ankle) is starting at designated hitter and batting seventh Thursday against the Cubs.

He sprained his ankle in Tuesday's game and was held out Wednesday, but Senzel is apparently able to hit and run the bases well enough to slot in as the DH for the series finale in Chicago. Senzel is hitting .219 with zero home runs and two steals over his last 10 games.

Escobar went 6-for-9 with two runs scored and two RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader sweep of the Pirates.

All six hits were singles -- two in the matinee and four in the nightcap -- but Escobar was able to turn them into some production while batting eighth in the lineup in both contests. The 33-year-old has had a tough season, but he's at least finishing it with a flourish. Since moving back into the starting lineup nine games ago, he's batting .448 (13-for-29) with three homers and six RBI.
