Cody Asche 3B | NYM
Phillies' Cody Asche: Close to a return
Asche (oblique) said he is nearly ready to come off the disabled list, Marc Narducci of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "I am close for sure," Asche said. "There are a couple of little things I need to shore up in the box, kind of leading to some not-so-favorable results."
Asche went 0-for-4 with a walk Thursday with Double-A Reading. He is just 2-for-16 in four games with Reading after a five game stint with High-A Clearwater where he was 3-for-18. He is expected to have his rehab transferred to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday and could rejoin the Phillies this weekend or early next week.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Scores twice in return from scare
Segura went 2-for-5 with a double and scored twice in Thursday's loss to the Pirates.
Segura showed no ill-effects in his first game back after being hit in the head and taken to the hospital on Tuesday. He's off to a nice start this season, slashing .318/.348/.480 through 198 at-bats. The infielder should be inserted back into lineups without hesitation moving into the weekend.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Drives in run but slump continues
Arenado drove in a run, but struck out twice in a 0-for-4 performance Thursday against the Red Sox.
The 25-year-old third baseman has hit safely in only one of the past five games, but he still found a way to produce on offense with an RBI. However, Arenado has hit .142 in the past 10 games, and it's no secret Colorado needs his offense in the middle of the order.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Back in lineup Thursday
Segura (head) is back in the lineup Thursday against the Pirates, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Segura went to the hospital after taking a pitch to the head Tuesday and was subsequently held out of Wednesday's lineup. However, he was not diagnosed with a concussion, and he'll return to his usual spot atop the lineup Thursday. Brandon Drury, who started at second base Wednesday, will shift to right field and bat fifth.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Giants' Matt Duffy: Hitting streak reaches six games
Duffy went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a run and strikeout against the Padres on Wednesday.
Duffy extended his hitting streak to six games with an RBI single in the sixth, and he's seen the ball pretty well of late going 8-for-21 during that span. His average rose to .250 for the first time since May 15, so things are definitively trending up for the 25-year-old infielder.

Carlos Asuaje 3B | LAD
Padres' Carlos Asuaje: Goes 4-for-4 with two runs
Asuaje went 4-for-4 with two runs in Triple-A El Paso's 9-1 victory over Iowa on Wednesday.
Asuaje, batting second in the order for the Chihuahuas, continued his streaky hitting and his average is now up to .331 on the season. He's recorded four multi-hit games in the last 10 as well as tallying nine runs and seven RBI. The 24-year-old has impressed in his first stint at the Triple-A level and if he continues to swing a hot bat, he could receive a big league promotion at some point in 2016.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Out of Wednesday's lineup
Segura is out of Wednesday's lineup but he is not headed to the seven-day concussion list, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Segura was hit in the head with a pitch in Tuesday's game and taken to the hospital. However, the Diamondbacks did not make any roster moves on Wednesday, meaning Segura won't be headed to the concussion list. He figures to slot in at the top of the order again soon.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Goes yard for third time Tuesday
Rendon went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Mets.
Rendon has failed to replicate his breakout 2014 campaign, totaling just eight homers in 126 games since after smacking 21 back then. The third baseman does have five runs and eight RBI in the last seven games, so he's swinging a hot bat at the moment.
-
Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Strikes out three times
Arenado went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Arenado struggled both at the plate and on the field during this game, and he recorded his first error of the campaign at the same time he whiffed three times. The third baseman has gone 0-for-12 over his last three games, so perhaps a day off would help him to clear his mind.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Taken to hospital for concussion tests
Segura was taken to the hospital following Tuesday's game after showing signs of a concussion after getting hit in the head by a pitch, MLB.com's Steve Gilbert reports.
This was certainly the fear when Arquimedes Caminero hit Segura in the head with a 96 mph fastball. Segura got up quickly and walked off under his own power, but it now sounds like he could be diagnosed with a concussion. Look for his status to be updated Wednesday. Nick Ahmed was also hit above the shoulders by a pitch from Caminero on Tuesday, so the D-Backs may be stretched thin up the middle in the short term.
