Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Huge performance in Sunday's win

Arenado went 4-for-4 with a triple, a home run and three RBI in Sunday's win over the Nationals.

He's been on fire recently, hitting .552 (16-for-29) with five homers, 13 RBI and seven runs scored over the last seven games to push his slash line on the season to .291/.361/.576. Perhaps more impressively, Arenado did most of that damage on the road -- only the first of those seven games took place at Coors Field. With the Rockies returning home this week, the All-Star third baseman may not be ready to cool down just yet.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Out again with illness

Segura (illness) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds, Jody Jackson of Fox Sports Arizona reports.

For the second day in a row, Segura is out of Arizona's lineup with an illness. Brandon Drury will start at second and hit seventh Sunday when the Diamondbacks take on Homer Bailey and the Reds. The club has Monday off, so consider Segura day-to-day heading into Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Braves' Jace Peterson: Out of Sunday's lineup

Peterson is out of Sunday's lineup versus San Francisco.

Gordon Beckham will start at second base and hit seventh while Peterson heads to the bench. The club has a day off Monday, so look for Peterson to return to action Tuesday when the Braves host the Padres.

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Has three hits in return to lineup Saturday

LeMahieu (wrist) went 3-for-5 with a run in Saturday's 9-4 extra-inning victory over the Nationals.

After missing the prior three games with wrist inflammation, LeMahieu made an encouraging return to the lineup. The 28-year-old has had a jaw-dropping August, with 11 multi-hit efforts, four homers and 13 RBI. He's also now hitting .469 (38-for-81) during the month, bringing his season average to a stellar .347.

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Back in lineup Saturday

LeMahieu (wrist) is back in the Rockies' lineup Saturday against Washington, Jenny Cavnar of ROOT Sports reports.

LeMahieu missed the last three games with inflammation in his wrist, but he said Friday that the ailment had begun to clear up. The 28-year-old will be back at his usual second base spot Saturday, and he'll bat second in the order behind leadoff man Charlie Blackmon.

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Remains out Friday

LeMahieu (wrist) remains out of the lineup Friday against the Padres, Jenny Cavnar of Root Sports reports.

Daniel Descalso will get the nod at second base with LeMahieu still not ready to go following Thursday's off day. LeMahieu is battling left wrist inflammation, and while there has been no indication that he's in immediate danger of landing on the DL, his status for the rest of the weekend is uncertain. He was red hot before being forced out of action, slashing .461/.554/.684 in August.

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Available to pinch hit Friday

LeMahieu (wrist) deemed himself available to pinch hit Friday against the Nationals, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

A bout of wrist inflammation will keep LeMahieu on the bench for a third straight game, but he said Friday that the wrist is feeling better and he should be good to start Saturday. The training staff will, of course, have the final say as far as Saturday goes but it sounds like LeMahieu is fully expected to avoid a DL stint. Daniel Descalso starts at second base Friday.

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Remains out Wednesday

LeMahieu (wrist) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Brewers.

He was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with the sore wrist and it is apparently still bothering him Wednesday. Daniel Descalso will get the start at the keystone and hit sixth in the finale against the Brewers. The Rockies have an off day Thursday, which will hopefully allow LeMahieu to get right in advance of this weekend's series against the Nationals.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Crushes 33rd homer Tuesday

Arenado went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Brewers.

Arenado's third-inning smash was his 33rd of the year, and his third in as many nights. After a stretch of poor games that saw his batting average drop more than 10 points mid-month, the third baseman has gotten back on track recently. In his last three games, Arenado is 9-for-13 with four extra-base hits, nine RBI and three runs scored.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Braves' Jace Peterson: Back in action Tuesday

Peterson is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Peterson was scratched from Monday's lineup due to lingering soreness from a collision with the wall in Sunday's game, but it appears he is feeling good enough to get back on the field. Peterson will man second base and hit seventh for the Braves on Tuesday night.
