Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Receives breather Monday
Rendon is out of the lineup Monday against the Phillies.
The Nationals are just about locked into finishing with the second-best record in the National League, so look for manager Dusty Baker to rest his stars somewhat liberally in the final week of the regular season. Rendon will be joined on the bench Monday by Daniel Murphy, with Wilmer Difo and Adrian Sanchez, respectively, replacing them in the infield.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Braves' Jace Peterson: Draws third straight start in left field
Peterson will start in left field and bat eighth Monday against the Mets in Game 1 of a doubleheader.
The continued absence of Matt Kemp (hamstring) has opened up an everyday role in left field for more than a week, and it appears Peterson has emerged as the preferred option at the position. While Matt Adams has typically manned a corner outfield spot this season when one of the Braves' regular options is injured or in need of a breather, his poor defense and status as an impending free agent have likely influenced manager Brian Snitker to turn in Peterson's direction. The spike in playing time enhances Peterson's fantasy outlook, but since he's slashing a meager .214/.316/.315 with only two home runs and three stolen bases in 194 plate appearances, there's not much value to be found here.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Exits Sunday with hand injury
Arenado was pulled in the sixth inning of the Rockies' 8-4 victory Sunday against the Padres due to a bruise on the palm of his right hand, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.
Arenado said he took a "funky swing" and fouled off a ball during an at-bat earlier in the game, resulting in him sustaining some swelling to the hand. However, the Rockies consider it only a minor setback for the All-Star third baseman and believe that he'll be able to return to action for Monday's series opener with the Marlins. With the Rockies still looking to secure a wild-card berth, Arenado's availability will be essential to that effort. He's in the midst of an excellent September, during which he's slashed .307/.429/.547 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 23 games.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Out of lineup Friday
Rendon is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
Manager Dusty Baker is going with his "B" lineup against Robert Gsellman, providing his regulars with one final rest as the NLDS draws near -- the Nats don't have another off day during the regular season. Rendon will be replaced at third base by Adrian Sanchez while Victor Robles bats fifth.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Returns to lineup Friday
Suarez (personal) is back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Suarez missed the last few games while welcoming a new child to the world, but returns to the team, and the lineup, for Friday's series opener. The 26-year-old will man third base and bat fifth in the order as the club takes on right-hander Rick Porcello.

Yadiel Rivera 3B | MIL
Brewers' Yadiel Rivera: Outrighted to Triple-A
Rivera cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday, Jim Goulart of Brewerfan.net reports.
While there weren't any teams willing to use a 40-man roster spot on Rivera, he will likely generate some interest as a minor-league free agent this offseason. He'll likely never be much of a contributor on offense, but his defensive versatility carries real-life value at the Triple-A level.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Remains out Thursday
Suarez (personal) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Suarez is still away from the team as he attends the birth of his child, so Patrick Kivelhan will draw another start at third base in his stead. It's still unclear when he will rejoin the Reds at this point.

Carlos Asuaje 3B | LAD
Padres' Carlos Asuaje: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Asuaje is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
Asuaje retreats to the bench for the second time in the past three games as Yangervis Solarte slides over to man the keystone during the series finale. Since the beginning of September, Asuaje is hitting .276/.354/.362 with one home run and three RBI.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Attending birth of child
Suarez is away from the team as he attends the birth of his child, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
This explains his absence from Tuesday's lineup. It's unclear when Suarez will rejoin the team at this point, but Patrick Kivlehan and Jose Peraza could benefit from some playing time around the infield in his absence.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Heads to bench Tuesday
Suarez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.
Suarez has hit just .200/.297/.327 in 55 September at-bats, so he'll head to the bench for the first time in 16 games this month. In his place, Patrick Kivlehan will make his second start of the season at third base, batting seventh.
