Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Rejoins lineup Thursday
Moustakas (hand) is starting at second base and hitting cleanup Thursday against the Reds.
Moustakas wound up missing just one start due to a left hand contusion he suffered earlier in the week after getting hit by a pitch. The veteran infielder, who is slashing .321/.429/.679 with six homers, nine RBI and a 7:6 BB:K through 15 games this month, will face righty Tanner Roark in his return to the starting lineup.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Dropped to fifth in order
Segura is starting at shortstop and hitting fifth Thursday against the Nationals, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Segura has hit exclusively in the top third of Philadelphia's order all season, but a slow start to June (.175/.243/.317 slash line through 16 games) has prompted the Phillies to shift him to the fifth spot in the order. Bryce Harper, Rhys Hoskins and Jay Bruce are occupying the first three spots in the order against righty Erick Fedde on Thursday.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Stuck in offensive rut
Escobar has gone 5-for-30 with one extra-base hit (a double), four RBI and four runs over his last eight games.
After a monstrous four-hit, two-homer performance in Philadelphia on June 10, Escobar has seen his bat go quiet over the final six games of the Diamondbacks' road trip. A return to Chase Field hasn't helped Escobar get back on track, as he went hitless in the first two games of the series. He'll remain in the lineup as the No. 5 hitter for the series finale Thursday but could be in line for a maintenance day at some point this weekend in light of his recent struggles.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Making progress in rehab
Hayes (finger) is expected to resume light baseball activities within the next few days, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
Hayes has been stuck on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Indianapolis since June 12 after fracturing his left index finger. The third-base prospect is likely at least a few weeks away from returning to action for Indianapolis, but his ability to resume light activities should help his efforts to stay conditioned while he waits for the finger to fully heal.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Braves' Josh Donaldson: Sixth homer in nine games
Donaldson went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Wednesday against the Mets.
Donaldson took Steven Matz deep in the sixth inning, his sixth home run in his past nine contests. He now has 14 homers on the season and is riding a nine-game hitting streak, which has included four multi-hit performances. After a slow start to the season, Donaldson has a .260/.365/.492 line across 296 plate appearances.

Carlos Asuaje 3B | LAD
Diamondbacks' Carlos Asuaje: Joins Arizona on MiLB deal
Asuaje signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Asuaje moved to the Korean Baseball Organization over the offseason but didn't make it through a full season overseas. The 27-year-old had a .196/.286/.280 slash line in 218 plate appearances with the Padres last season.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Heads to bench
Muncy is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Giants, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Muncy has started the past 13 games for the Dodgers, slashing .304/.448/.652 with five homers and a 12:13 BB:K during that stretch. He'll give way to David Freese at first base in this one with lefty Drew Pomeranz starting for the opposition.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Powers team to victory
Arenado went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, walk, three RBI and two runs Tuesday in the Rockies' 8-1 win over the Diamondbacks.
Though the Rockies and Padres combined to score 92 runs in their four-game series at Coors Field over the weekend, Arenado was surprisingly quiet, contributing only three hits (all singles) despite starting each contest. Fortunately for Colorado, he was at peak form for the start of their nine-game road trip, staking the club to an early lead with a two-run shot off Merrill Kelly in the first inning. He'll be back in the lineup Wednesday as Colorado's cleanup hitter.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Expected back by weekend
Manager Craig Counsell said Moustakas, who is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Padres due to a left hand contusion, will "for sure" return to action this weekend against the Reds, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Counsell said that Moustakas is dealing with some soreness but is otherwise fine after getting hit by a pitch during Tuesday's game. While the manager noted that Moustakas may not be ready for Thursday's series opener, he was confident about the infielder rejoining the starting nine sometime over the weekend. In the meantime, Hernan Perez is starting at the keystone Wednesday.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Will not be in Wednesday's lineup
Moustakas, who exited Tuesday's game against the Padres with a left hand contusion, will not be in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale, Sophia Minnaert of FSN Wisconsin reports.
While Moustakas will be held out at least one day as a result of being hit by a pitch Tuesday, X-rays taken on his hand came back negative, so there is reason to believe he will be back on the field in short order. Barring a roster move, Travis Shaw will likely man the hot corner for the Brewers on Wednesday.
