Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Nursing elbow soreness
Moustakas isn't in Friday's lineup against Colorado due to a sore right elbow, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
It was announced prior to Friday's series opener that the third baseman is nursing an elbow issue, which is why he's sitting for the second straight day. He'll be considered day-to-day moving forward but will be available off the bench if needed.

Brewers' Mike Moustakas: Sitting again Friday
Moustakas isn't in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Colorado.
Moustakas will head to the bench for the second straight contest, which is odd considering the Brewers are currently pushing for a division title. There's been no word of an injury for the starting third baseman at this point, however. Cory Spangenberg draws the start at the hot corner and is set to bat seventh.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Sitting Friday
Segura (ankle) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Marlins.
Segura sustained the right ankle sprain during Thursday's game against the Nationals, so it's no surprise to see him withheld from Friday's starting nine. The 29-year-old seems like a decent bet to be done for the season with only a couple games left on the schedule and the Phillies out of playoff contention. Scott Kingery will start at shortstop in the series opener while Maikel Franco takes over at the hot corner.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Exits with ankle injury
Segura was removed from Thursday's game against the Nationals with a right ankle sprain, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports.
Segura went 1-for-2 before exiting with the injury prior to the bottom of the fifth inning. With just three games left in the season and the Phillies out of playoff contention, Segura could be done for the year. Sean Rodriguez entered the game in his place.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Out of Thursday's lineup
Suarez is not in Thursday's lineup against the Brewers.
He will head to the bench a day after hitting his 49th long ball of the year. Manager David Bell said Wednesday that it would be nice to get Suarez to the 50-home-run plateau, so he should be back in action this weekend against the Pirates.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Braves' Josh Donaldson: Doubles thrice in win
Donaldson went 3-for-6 with three doubles, four RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Royals.
The 33-year-old's trio of doubles marked a career-high as he drove in four runs to help lift the National League East champion Braves to victory. Donaldson now has 33 doubles, 37 home runs and 96 runs scored on the season while batting .258/.378/.523.

Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Blasts 49th homer
Suarez went 2-for-3 with a walk and solo home run Wednesday against the Brewers.
Suarez launched his 49th home run of the season in the first inning off Jordan Lyles. He continues to swing the bat incredibly well, collecting hits in nine of his last 11 starts and smacking four homers in his last nine contests. Even given the current advantageous environment for hitters, Suarez's season stands out as he's likely to join Pete Alonso in surpassing 50 home runs before the campaign comes to a close.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Gets day off
Rendon is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Phillies.
Rendon will be rewarded with what appears to be a regular day off after the Nationals a clinched a spot in the playoffs Tuesday. The veteran third baseman is hitting just .182 over his past 10 games, though he owns an impressive 10:3 BB:K over that stretch. Asdrubal Cabrera is covering the hot corner in his place, with Brian Dozier starting at second base.
