Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Out with shoulder sprain
Anderson was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a sprained left shoulder, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
The 29-year-old underwent an MRI after suffering the injury on an attempted dive Saturday, and he'll be forced to miss some time with a sprain. Anderson had two separate stints on the IL last year due to issues with the same shoulder, and it's unclear how long he's expected to be out this time. Joey Wendle should see more playing time against left-handed pitching while Anderson is sidelined, and Luke Williams should also have an increased role.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Can't travel to Toronto
Arenado, who is starting at third base Sunday against the Reds, won't be able to travel with the Cardinals for the two-game series versus the Blue Jays this week due to his vaccination status, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Arenado is 5-for-10 with three doubles and a run in the first two games of the second half and can add to that production Sunday, but he won't be able to join the team in Toronto on Tuesday since he's apparently unvaccinated. Paul Goldschmidt cannot travel for the same reason, so the Cardinals will be missing their two best players for the two-game set versus the Blue Jays. The pair will be moved to the injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Not in Sunday's lineup
McMahon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Milwaukee.
McMahon is 0-for-10 with six strikeouts in the first two games out of the All-Star break, and he'll take a seat for Sunday's contest. Garrett Hampson will handle starting duties at third base against Brewers lefty Eric Lauer.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Belts decisive homer
Machado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 2-1 victory versus the Mets on Saturday.
Offense was hard to come by for both teams in the contest, and Machado's two-run, sixth-inning blast turned out to be the decisive hit in the contest. The All-Star third baseman is batting just .185 through 18 games in July, though four of his 12 hits this month have left the park. Machado leads the Padres with 16 homers, 53 RBI and 96 hits on the campaign.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Leaves game with shoulder injury
Anderson is scheduled for an MRI after hurting his left shoulder while diving for a ball in the sixth inning against the Pirates on Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Anderson tried to nab a Cal Mitchell single in the sixth inning, and the attempt forced him out of the contest. There may be added concern about the injury since Anderson required two IL stints last season due to issues with the same left shoulder. Prior to his departure, the third baseman went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Crushes three hits, homer
Riley went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run in a 7-2 win against the Angels on Saturday.
Riley did his damage early with singles in the first and third innings and a two-run home run in the fourth to bring home Atlanta's final two runs of the game. The 25-year-old has opened the second half strong with two multi-hit games and two extra-base hits to raise his line to .292/.353/.586 with 28 home runs, 58 runs and 63 RBI.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Suffers hamstring injury Saturday
Longoria exited Saturday's game versus the Dodgers in the fourth inning with a right hamstring strain, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Longoria suffered the injury after trying to avoid grounding into a double play, but he was unsuccessful and had to leave the game. The third baseman will likely be placed on the 10-day injured list in near future due to the nature of the injury.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Exits game with lower-body injury
Longoria left Saturday's contest early in the fourth inning with an apparent lower-body injury, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Longoria pulled up lame while trying to beat out a double-play ball in the top of the fourth inning, leaving the contest after the top of the frame. He appeared to injure his right hamstring but exact details will come later Saturday night. David Villar replaced him in the field and will take over the fourth spot in the order.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: Likely out at least one month
Peterson (elbow) will likely be sidelined until at least the end of August, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that Peterson has been dealing with his elbow injury for approximately three weeks, and he'll require more than the minimum of 10 days on the IL. He received a PRP injection Saturday and will be shut down for a few days before beginning his rehab, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports. Counsell said that a return at the end of August is "optimistic," so it's possible that the 32-year-old will be unavailable until sometime in September. Mike Brosseau will likely see an uptick in playing time at third base behind Luis Urias over the next few weeks.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: Lands on 10-day IL
Peterson was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left elbow sprain Saturday, retroactive to July 20.
Peterson didn't start Friday's game against the Rockies, and he's apparently dealing with an elbow issue that will keep him sidelined for at least another week. Since the move was backdated to July 20, the 32-year-old will be eligible to return as early as July 30. Mike Brosseau should serve as the primary backup at third base while Peterson is sidelined.
