  • Oliver Dunn 2B | CHW

Brewers' Oliver Dunn: Expected to be optioned

Dunn appears set to be optioned to Triple-A Nashville prior to Wednesday's game versus the Pirates, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The Brewers haven't announced any transactions as Wednesday's 1:10 p.m. ET opening pitch approaches, but Dunn no longer had a locker in the clubhouse. Dunn has slashed just .192/.240/.255 since April 16 and has seen his playing time slip, so his expected demotion doesn't come as a surprise.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Goes yard in Tuesday's win

McMahon went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Padres.

McMahon got the scoring going for the Rockies with a solo blast to right center off Dylan Cease in the fourth. It was his second home run this month and his first since May 3. He's now rocking a four-game hit streak with multiple hits in two of those while only striking out once over that span. McMahon has been one of the most consistent hitters in their lineup so far this year, slashing .308/.389/.481 with six homers, 22 RBI, 18 runs and a 22:50 BB:K in 180 plate appearances.

  • Trey Lipscomb 3B | WAS

Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Runs wild in matinee

Lipscomb went 3-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI and three stolen bases in a 6-3 win over the White Sox during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

The Nationals didn't record a single extra-base hit in the matinee, but Lipscomb had no problem getting himself into scoring position -- in addition to his 3-for-3 performance on the basepaths, he advanced to second base on a disengagement violation when he induced Chris Flexen to attempt a third pickoff in the second inning. After going 1-for-4 in the nightcap, Lipscomb is slashing .260/.339/.298 through his first 32 big-league games with one homer, 10 steals, nine RBI and 16 runs.

  • Mark Vientos DH | NYM

    Mets' Mark Vientos: Promotion imminent

The Mets will recall Vientos from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Vientos has slashed .233/.343/.400 across 35 plate appearances since being sent down to Triple-A on April 30, and he will now return to New York -- presumably forming a platoon at third base with Brett Baty. Vientos went 3-for-7 with a two-run homer during his first stint in the majors.

  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: In lineup as DH on Tuesday

Morel (toe) will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in Tuesday's game in Atlanta.

Morel had to exit Monday's contest after fouling a ball off his left foot, but he's fine. It's his first start at DH in more than a week, which will free up third base for Patrick Wisdom on Tuesday.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Remains out Tuesday

Riley (side) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Atlanta received good news when an MRI revealed merely inflammation in Riley's left side rather than a strain. However, he is likely still sore and will miss a second straight start. With a scheduled off day coming Thursday, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Atlanta hold Riley out until Friday just to be safe. Zack Short is getting another start at third base Tuesday.

  • Jake Burger 3B | TEX

Marlins' Jake Burger: Taking seat Tuesday

Burger is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Detroit.

Burger has had trouble finding his rhythm since returning from the injured list, going just 2-for-29 at the plate. He'll get a day off to reset. Tristan Gray will handle third base in Burger's stead.

  • Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Getting live at-bats in Arizona

Marte has been able to play in exhibition games in Arizona during his suspension, per Reds Daily.

The Reds Daily X account posted a video of Marte grounding out in an at-bat against Dodgers minor leaguers at a spring training complex in Arizona. Marte won't be playing in any official minor-league games with tracked statistics, but he has still been able to work on maintaining his timing at the dish. He is eligible to return from his suspension June 19, which is also around the time Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) is expected to return from the injured list.

  • Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Stays hot in loss

Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Candelario, who has multiple hits in three of the last six games, is heating up. He's 9-for-24 during that stretch with two doubles, a home run and six RBI. The resurrected bat prompted a move up the order to fifth, after Candelario spent time in the lower third since mid-April.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Goes deep in victory

Arenado went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 10-5 victory versus the Angels.

The Cardinals were shut out over six innings before Arenado ignited an eight-run seventh with an inning-opening solo shot to left field. The long ball was just his third of the season and marked only his second extra-base hit over his past seven games. Aside from the lack of power, Arenado hasn't been far off his usual level of production, slashing .268/.327/.386 with 21 RBI and 15 runs through 40 games.
