Royals' Mike Moustakas: Remains on bench Wednesday
Moustakas (forearm) is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Red Sox, Maria Torres of The Kansas City Star reports.
The Royals will keep Moustakas on the bench for the second straight game while he continues to recover from being hit in the forearm by a pitch Monday, but a trip to the disabled list doesn't seem to be in the cards for the 29-year-old. Moustakas was healthy enough to ground out in a pinch-hitting appearance during the 10th inning of the Royals' 7-6 win Tuesday, suggesting a return to the lineup is likely imminent.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson: Plays seven innings in rehab game
Donaldson (shoulder) went 2-for-2 with a walk while playing seven innings at third base Tuesday in a rehab game at High-A Dunedin.
Per John Lott of The Athletic Toronto, Donaldson made a fielding error, but handled the other three groundballs he received on the day and successfully threw out the runner at first base. That provides some optimism that his shoulder is no longer inhibiting his throwing, but Donaldson will still probably need to get in another game or two in the minors before the Blue Jays consider bringing him back from the 10-day disabled list, likely at some point over the weekend.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Hits two-run double in loss
Moncada went 2-for-5 with a two-run double in Tuesday's loss to the Cardinals.
Moncada slashed a flyball to left field that got by Marcell Ozuna and scored two runs in the fourth, which put the White Sox on top 2-1 at the time. Moncada has recorded a hit in eight of his last nine games, going 14-for-38 (.368) in that span. Exactly half of Moncada's 30 hits on the season have gone for extra bases, and he's now slashing .273/.355/.527 with 15 RBI and 17 runs scored.

Royals' Mike Moustakas: Sitting out Tuesday as precautionary measure
Moustakas (forearm) was withheld from Tuesday's lineup as a precautionary measure, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic Kansas City reports.
With the left-handed Chris Sale starting for the Red Sox, the Royals decided to give Moustakas another day to rest after being hit by a pitch Monday. Moustakas will likely return to the lineup in the near future, although the Royals could err on the side of caution and have him sit out one more day as they're scheduled to face another southpaw in Drew Pomeranz on Wednesday.

Royals' Mike Moustakas: Held out Tuesday
Moustakas (forearm) is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Red Sox, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Moustakas left Monday's series opener after getting hit on the forearm by a pitch, but fortunately X-rays on the injured area came back clean. He'll remain out Tuesday to rest a bit more, allowing Cheslor Cuthbert to log a start at third base in his place.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Rays' Matt Duffy: Extends hitting streak Monday
Duffy went 2-for-4 in a win over the Tigers on Monday.
Duffy vaulted his average up over the .300 mark for the first time since the third game of the season with Monday's production. He's now hit safely in seven straight games, a streak that predates his recent disabled list stint due to a hamstring injury. If the oft-injured 27-year-old can figure out a way to remain healthy, he could be primed for a resurgent season judging by his early play.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Indians' Jose Ramirez: Continues to bounce back after slow start
Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and two RBI to help the Indians to a 7-5 win over the Rangers on Monday.
Ramirez got off to a brutally slow start to the season but he's gradually been working his way out of it and he's now slashing .267/.353/.510 after bagging five hits in his nine at-bats. He's one of the better hot-streak artists in the game when he's locked in, so look for those numbers to continue to improve as he tries to replicate the form of last season when he broke out as an MVP candidate.

Royals' Mike Moustakas: X-rays come back clean
Moustakas didn't suffer any structural damage to his forearm after being hit by a pitch Monday night, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
X-rays on Moustakas' forearm came back clean and the Royals are considering him day-to-day. Should they hold him out of the lineup as a precautionary measure for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, look for Cheslor Cuthbert to start at third base.

Royals' Mike Moustakas: Suffers bruised forearm Monday
Moustakas was diagnosed with a bruised right forearm following his departure from Monday's game against the Red Sox, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic Kansas City reports.
Moustakas will receive X-rays on his forearm to determine the severity of the injury. Consider him day-to-day until further notice, although Cheslor Cuthbert would likely spend time at third base if Moustakas has to miss a game or two.
