  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson: Collects three hits

Donaldson went 3-for-4 with a double Thursday against the Mariners.

Donaldson had been in a prolonged slump since returning to the lineup, recording only five hits in 29 at-bats entering Thursday's game. However, this performance was a step forward as he doubled off Mike Leake and was one of the few bright spots in the Blue Jays' lineup. While there have been no indications from the team that his shoulder injury is hindering his performance, he is now slugging just .494 in 79 at-bats -- his lowest mark since 2014.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Mariners' Jean Segura: Raps out three hits in defeat

Segura went 3-for-5 with an RBI double and a run in a loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

The shortstop had gone 0-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts in his start Tuesday following an early exit from Sunday's game due to a headache, so the three-hit performance was a particularly welcome sight. Segura already has a trio of multi-hit efforts in May, but his 20-homer season with the Diamondbacks in 2016 increasingly appears to have been an outlier. After hitting a modest 11 round trippers over 565 plate appearances in his debut Mariners season in 2017, Segura has just two home runs over 158 plate appearances this season, while his ISO sits at an uninspiring .128.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Rays' Matt Duffy: On base three times Wednesday

Duffy went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk in a loss to the Braves on Wednesday.

Although Rays bats have largely gone quiet recently, Duffy now has a trio of multi-hit efforts over the first seven games of May. The oft-injured infielder is 14-for-41 with three doubles, two RBI, three walks and two runs in the 10 games he's played since his latest stint on the disabled list, but he's still sporting just one home run over his first 108 plate appearances.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Takes grounders Wednesday

Moncada (hamstring) took groundballs Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Moncada is progressing nicely from his hamstring injury, leaving the White Sox optimistic that he'll rejoin the club when his 10-day stint on the disabled list is up. Until then, Leury Garcia is expected to fill in at second base.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: On cruise control at Low-A

Lewis is hitting .373/.416/.434 with one home run, 10 steals (on 11 attempts) and a 10:6 K:BB in 89 plate appearances with Low-A Cedar Rapids.

Lewis, who doesn't turn 19 until June, is one of the youngest hitters in the Midwest League, yet has as many steals as strikeouts, so he is really not getting challenged by the pitching at this level. His .373 average is the fourth-highest mark in the league, illustrating that his hit tool is as advertised. He looks the part of a future five-category force, as he should grow into double-digit homer power as he matures. He should be promoted to High-A Fort Myers at some point in the coming weeks.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Blue Jays' Gio Urshela: Traded to Toronto

Urshela was dealt to the Blue Jays in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Urshela will move on after being a member of Cleveland's organization since 2009. He was recently designated for assignment after being activated from the 10-day DL (hamstring) last week. In 67 games with the big-league team in 2017, Urshela hit .224 with a .550 OPS and 15 RBI. He will provide organizational depth at the third base spot moving forward.

  • Pedro Alvarez 3B | MIA

Orioles' Pedro Alvarez: Remains on bench Wednesday

Alvarez is not in the lineup against the Royals on Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

This marks the second straight day out of the starting nine for Alvarez after he started the previous four. In his absence, Danny Valencia will get the assignment at third base while batting seventh in the order.

  • Drew Robinson 3B | TEX

Rangers' Drew Robinson: To receive left hip injection

Robinson (hip) will receive an injection and head to extended spring training for a few games, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Robinson landed on the 10-day disabled list Monday due to left hip soreness. It appears as though he should be able to return to the club at some point next week, but more should be known regarding his status once he's able to participate in baseball activities.

  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Tears Achilles again

Burger retore his Achilles and is slated to miss the next 12 months, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

He ruptured his Achilles in late February and then apparently retore it while at home last week. The initial timetable was a year, and now that he has experienced the same injury he likely won't return until May of 2019, at which point he will be 23 years old and have zero experience above Low-A. Burger's classic offensive profile at third base makes him worth hanging onto in deeper dynasty leagues, but he can be cut loose in formats where only 150 prospects are rostered.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Hits solo home run Tuesday

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Tuesday's win over the A's.

Bregman slugged his third home run of the year off starter Sean Manaea in the second inning. Bregman's slash line is a serviceable .259/.372/.403, and he has an impressive total of 23 walks against just 20 strikeouts on the year. He's currently riding a modest seven-game hitting streak.
