  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Astros' J.D. Davis: Optioned to minors

Davis was optioned to Triple-A Fresno on Tuesday, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Davis' recent stint in the majors will be short lived as he'll now head back to Fresno in order to open up a roster spot for Josh Reddick's activation from the disabled list Wednesday. Davis went 3-for-21 following his most recent promotion May 20.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Mariners' Jean Segura: Solo jack in win

Segura went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Astros.

A day after seeing an eight-game hitting streak come to an end, Segura wasted no time getting back in the hit column with a single in the first inning before adding his fifth homer. The 28-year-old is slashing .333/.353/.483 and will continue to be among the league's leaders in runs scored and steals.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Sustains jammed finger Tuesday

Candelario exited Tuesday's game against the Red Sox and was diagnosed with a jammed middle finger on his right hand.

The injury was caused by a 104 mph groundball off the bat of J.D. Martinez, but thankfully X-rays came back negative for Candelario. Overall it's good news for the 24-year-old and his chances of avoiding the disabled list.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Exits with hand injury

Candelario left Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with an apparent right hand injury, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Candelario was hit on his right hand by 104 mph groundball off the bat of J.D. Martinez, and was subsequently charged with an error after throwing the ball away. The severity of the injury is unclear at this point. Ronny Rodriguez took over at third base for the Tigers.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Rides pine Sunday

Devers is not in the lineup Sunday against the Astros, Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston reports.

Mired in a 2-for-20 slump over his past five starts, Devers will be given the day off to clear his head in the series finale against the reigning World Series champs. Eduardo Nunez takes over at the hot corner in his stead.

  • Orioles' Manny Machado: Homers for second straight game

Machado went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo homer in Saturday's loss to the Yankees.

Machado took Masahiro Tanaka deep in the sixth inning, hitting his third home run in the last four games and 18th on the season. The 25-year-old is now hitting an impressive .327/.398/.633 with 47 RBI, 32 runs and a pair of stolen bases this season.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Launches sixth homer Saturday

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Red Sox.

Bregman took advantage of a David Price cutter that caught too much of the plate to hit his sixth homer of the season and gave the Astros a 3-1 third-inning lead. The young third baseman had slumped over the past week, hitting .161 (5-for-31) with no RBI over the last seven games. Fortunately, even during times of a slump, Bregman provides some value with his on-base ability. He walked four times during his slump and has a team-high 36 free passes, which puts him in position to score runs with Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa hitting behind him. Bregman scored six times during his seven-game slump and is fourth on the Astros with 30 runs scored.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Swats solo homer Saturday

Candelario went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's win over the Blue Jays.

Candelario led the bottom of the first inning off with a homer -- his ninth of the season -- putting the Tigers up 1-0 while extending his hitting streak to six games. The 24-year-old is now hitting a solid .274/.363/.531 with 28 runs and 24 RBI through 46 games this season.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Steals sixth bag Saturday

Moncada went 1-for-4 and had his sixth stolen base in Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Brewers.

Moncada has been invisible since coming off the disabled list May 15. He entered Saturday having hit .206 with a .551 OPS over 74 plate appearances in 17 games since being activated. On a slightly more positive note, Moncada's stolen base was the third attempt in the last five games after going 26 games without an attempt.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Rays' Matt Duffy: Another three-hit night Friday

Duffy went 3-for-5 with a game-tying RBI single in an extra-innings loss to the Mariners on Friday.

The hot-hitting infielder laced a clutch single to left in the ninth, plating Joey Wendle to ultimately send the game into extra innings. It was Duffy's second three-hit effort over the last three contests, and both his current average (.319) and on-base percentage (.356) represent career bests.
