Rays' Matt Duffy: Extends hit streak in loss

Duffy went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Duffy has boosted his season average 10 points to .301 over his current six-game hitting streak, one in which he's generated five multi-hit efforts. While the fact he's only belted out a pair of extra-base hits (two doubles) during August has his monthly slugging percentage at a modest .310, Duffy's .364 on-base percentage over the same stretch exemplifies the quality of his work at the plate. The 27-year-old has now hit double-digit steals for the second time in his career, and he's just three away from eclipsing the career-high 12 he swiped during the 2015 campaign in San Francisco.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Drives in run in loss to Royals

Candelario went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Royals.

Candelario now has hits in nine of his last 10 games, though he's recorded multiple hits in a game just once in the stretch, which explains his modest .250 batting average during the span. The rebuilding Tigers figure to keep using the 24-year-old in a leadoff role the rest of the season, which gives Candelario a little bit of fantasy value if he can keep stringing together hits.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Swipes two bases in return to action

Madrigal (thumb) went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored for High-A Winston Salem on Monday.

Madrigal looked sharp in his return to action after missing three games with a bruised thumb. The first-round selection is hitting .269/.333/.299 with eight RBI and four stolen bases in 19 games since earning a promotion to High-A at the beginning of the month.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Continues slugging in loss

Chapman went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in a loss to the Astros on Monday.

Although the Athletics had plenty to be disappointed about Monday, Chapman's continued offensive tear certainly didn't qualify. The third baseman has smacked half of his eight August homers over the last four games, amassing seven RBI along the way. An impressive 20 of Chapman's 32 hits during the month have gone for extra bases as well, helping lead to an eye-popping 1.100 OPS across 105 August plate appearances.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Notches four hits, including 25th homer

Bregman went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 11-4 win over the Athletics.

Bregman's three-run homer in the eighth inning broke open a close game between the top two teams in the AL West. It was his 25th bomb of the season. Bregman had hit a fallow spell since the All-Star break, like many in the Astros lineup, but he's busted out recently. Following a 15-game stretch in which he had four RBI and a .694 OPS, the third basemen has a 1.218 OPS with three homers and nine RBI over the last 10 games.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Plates two in victory over Yankees

Moncada went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 6-2 win over New York.

Moncada tied the game 2-2 in the sixth inning as he plated a pair on a double to right-center field. The 23-year-old second baseman has now collected a base knock in four straight games, going 5-for-14 with three extra-base hits and six RBI during that stretch. Moncada is batting just .221 this season, although he's homered 16 times and driven in 53 to go along with 11 stolen bases through 121 games.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Set for rehab stint

Devers (hamstring) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Devers is spending his second stint on the disabled list in less than a month due to a hamstring injury. He's set to play for the PawSox on Wednesday and Thursday, and if all goes well it sounds like the 21-year-old could rejoin the Red Sox as early as Friday.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Slugs pair of homers in win

Chapman went 3-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs and three runs in a win over the Twins on Sunday.

Chapman has been an integral part of the Athletics' excellent run this season, and he's been especially impressive at the plate in the second half. Factoring in Sunday's production, the 25-year-old is slashing .348/.417/.710 with a .466 wOBA and .362 ISO over 156 post-All-Star-break plate appearances, and he's now 9-for-19 with a double, three homers and five RBI over his last four games.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Rays' Matt Duffy: Notches three hits vs. Boston

Duffy went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Red Sox.

Duffy has put up solid numbers at the dish of late, recording a base knock in each of his previous five ballgames. He drove in a run in the fourth inning, then doubled home a run in the sixth during the series finale. Following his most recent performance, Duffy is hitting .300 with 35 RBI and nine stolen bases through 110 games, so he continues to provide fantasy owners with value late in the season.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Dealing with bruised thumb

Madrigal is dealing with a bruised thumb and is considered day-to-day, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.

The first-round selection hasn't played for High-A Winston-Salem since Thursday due to the injury. Assuming Madrigal shows improvement over the next day or two, he should rejoin the lineup and get in a few more at-bats before Winston-Salem wraps up its regular-season schedule Sept. 3.
