Candelario is not starting in Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Candelario takes a seat with Ronny Rodriguez starting at third base and John Hicks manning first. Candelario has gotten regular playing time at first with Dawel Lugo taking over the primary role at third, though neither young player has broken out in 2019. The Tigers will be looking for the 25-year-old Candelario to take a big step forward in 2020 to warrant staying in a prominent role.

Chapman is not in the lineup for Sunday's game at Seattle, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The Athletics clinched home-field advantage for Wednesday's AL Wild Card Game on Saturday, so it's no surprise to see him receive the day off in the finale. Sheldon Neuse will cover third base in his place Sunday.

Ramirez (hand) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game at Washington, Byron Kerr of MASN Sports reports.

Ramirez missed the first two games of the series since he's still experiencing soreness in his right hand after missing most of September, and it's no surprise the Indians will keep him on the bench for the finale with their playoff hopes dashed. The 27-year-old should finish 2019 with a .255/.327/.479 slash line, 23 home runs, 83 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 129 games. Yu Chang receives another start at third base Sunday.

Moncada hit a pinch-hit home run in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Tigers. He went 2-for-4 in the afternoon contest.

Moncada launched his 25th home run and has hit safely in 20 of his last 22 games (40-for-92, .435). He's finishing up the season with an 1.111 OPS during September, which alongside fellow young building blocks Tim Anderson (.985) and Eloy Jimenez (1.107) makes the White Sox an interesting team to watch in 2020.

Moncada will sit for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Detroit.

Moncada hits the bench after going 2-for-4 with a run and a pair of singles in the first game of the day. Danny Mendick gets the start at third base.

Ramirez (hand) remains on the bench Saturday against the Nationals.

Ramirez returned quickly from a broken hamate bone, but it wasn't enough to drag Cleveland into the playoffs, as the team was eliminated from contention following Friday's loss. With nothing left to play for, Ramirez may have played in his final game of the season already. Yu Chang starts at third base Saturday.

Bregman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 4-0 win over the Angels.

Bregman is up to 41 homers for the year, including six in his last 11 games. The third baseman has added 111 RBI and 120 runs scored in 154 games this season while slashing .296/.421/.595 in what has been a career year.

Urshela (hand) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and another run scored in Friday's win over the Rangers.

Urshela extended the Yankees' lead with a home run in the sixth inning in his first game back after he was hit in the hand by a pitch during Tuesday's game. Across 437 at-bats this season, Urshela is slashing .316/.357/.538 with 21 home runs.

Ramirez's absence Friday against the Nationals is due to hand soreness, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

The news is hardly a surprise, as Ramirez returned faster than expected from a broken hamate bone. He'll get at least one day to rest, though whether he returns Saturday could depend at least partially on whether Cleveland is still in the Wild Card hunt.

Urshela (hand) is back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Urshela left Tuesday's game after getting hit in the hand by a pitch, but the injury evidently wasn't a particularly serious one. He'll bat seventh and play third base Friday.
