Urias went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 10-5 loss to the Blue Jays.

His fifth-inning shot got the O's on the board, but unfortunately they were already down 10-0 at that point. It was Urias' first homer in the majors, and the 26-year-old has had an impressive start to his big-league career, going 8-for-21 (.381) through nine games.

Donaldson left Friday's game against the Reds at the beginning of the second inning with a right calf cramp, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Donaldson was replaced defensively by Ehire Adrianza to begin the second inning, and his initial diagnosis revealed a right calf issue. The third baseman missed all of August with right calf tightness. He's currently considered day-to-day but could be replaced by Adrianza or Marwin Gonzalez if he misses additional time.

It's not clear what injury Donaldson could be dealing with, but he was replaced by Ehire Adrianza at third base to begin the second inning. Whether Donaldson misses additional time remains to be seen.

Candelario landed on the 10-day injured list with a lower-back strain Friday.

The injury which forced Candelario to exit Thursday's game will wind up ending his season prematurely. It was quite an encouraging season from him at the plate, as he hit .297/.369/.503 in 206 plate appearances. Harold Castro will be the first baseman and cleanup hitter Friday against the Royals.

Devers is not in the lineup Friday against Atlanta.

The Red Sox haven't been in the playoff race for quite some time, so they have little reason to play their best players every day. Devers sits for this contest, though there haven't been reports that he's injured, so he'll presumably return Saturday.

Bregman went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, an RBI triple, a double and another run scored during Thursday's win over the Rangers.

Bregman had a hot night at the plate, starting things off with an RBI triple against Lance Lynn in the first inning, then cranking a two-run home run in the fifth. The 26-year-old then tacked on a double in the sixth, falling just a single shy of the cycle. Bregman now has five long balls this season to go with a .254/.361/.458 slash line.

Candelario left Thursday's game against the Royals with lower-back tightness and is considered day-to-day.

Jorge Bonifacio entered the game in left field with Brandon Dixon shifting to first base. Candelario will look to make it back in the lineup at some point during the regular season's closing weekend.

Rivera underwent surgery on his elbow, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Per Wilson, the procedure was similar to Tommy John surgery, but involved using an artificial brace rather than a human tendon. Fellow Ranger Danny Santana had the same surgery Sept. 9 and is expected to take eight months to recover, so a similar timeline could be in store for Rivera.

Madrigal is not in Thursday's lineup against Cleveland.

He is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak and is batting .400 with one extra-base hit (a double) and zero steals on one attempt over that span. Yolmer Sanchez will handle the keystone and bat eighth.

Urshela indicated Wednesday that offseason surgery to remove a bone spur in his right elbow is a possibility, Brendan Kuty of NJ Advance Media reports.

Urshela recently returned from a stint on the injured list due to the bone spur, and he continues to wear a sleeve over his elbow to mitigate the pain. While the 28-year-old explained that the elbow "feels really good" at the moment, he wouldn't rule out the possibility of offseason surgery. "I don't know yet," he stated. "We're going to have to see how's the elbow at the end of the season." The issue doesn't seem to be affecting Urshela's play; since returning from the IL, he has notched at least one hit in every game, batting .438 (14-for-32).
