Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Astros' Abraham Toro: Makes third straight start
Toro started at designated hitter Tuesday and went 0-for-3 with a run scored in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Rockies.
Toro made his third consecutive start as he's getting an opportunity with injuries hitting a number of Astros. Michael Brantley (quadriceps) and Yordan Alvarez (knee) are on the injured list while George Springer's wrist injury flared up Tuesday. The 23-year-old infielder has not taken advantage, however, going hitless (0-for-10) over the three-start run.

Ramon Urias 3B | STL
Orioles' Ramon Urias: Earns first callup
Urias was recalled by the Orioles on Tuesday.
Whenever Urias gets into a game, it will be his major-league debut. He posted a .263/.369/.424 slash line (good for a 97 wRC+) in 96 games for Triple-A Memphis in the Cardinals organization last season. He'll likely serve as a utility infielder during his time with the team, giving the Orioles added depth with Jose Iglesias (quadriceps) landing on the injured list in a corresponding move.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Homers again
Moncada went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Monday against the Tigers.
Moncada followed up a leadoff home run by Tim Anderson with a long ball of his own in the first inning off Matthew Boyd. It was his fifth home run of the season and second in as many games. For the season, Moncada has maintained a .267/.330/.488 line across 94 plate appearances to go along with 10 runs scored and 12 RBI.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Tigers' Isaac Paredes: Drives in two in MLB debut
Paredes went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Monday's 7-2 loss to the White Sox.
Parades plated Detroit's only runs of the night on a fourth inning single. The 21-year-old is one of the organization's top prospects, and he should see regular action at third base or shortstop moving forward. He started at third in this one, with Willi Castro starting at short. Regular shortstop Niko Goodrum is day-to-day with a back injury, and it will be interesting to see how everyone's playing time shakes out once Goodrum is healthy.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Twins' Josh Donaldson: Continues to show improvement
Donaldson (calf) took part in machine cardio and fielded groundballs Monday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Donaldson is slowing ramping up his baseball activities, making it through Monday's workout without any issues. He also continues to take batting practice and take cuts in the cage, per Helfand. The Twins have yet to disclose a concrete timetable for the third baseman's return, however.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
White Sox's Nick Madrigal: On track for late-August return
Madrigal (shoulder) has resumed most baseball activities and remains on track to return before the end of the month, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Madrigal lasted just five games into his debut season before separating his left shoulder in early August. He continues making good progress, though his precise timeline remains unclear. Danny Mendick has been the primary second baseman in his absence.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Out two or three weeks
LeMahieu is expected to miss two or three weeks with his sprained left thumb, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
LeMahieu dealt with a similar injury back in 2018 and wound up being out for a similar time frame. The given timetable should see him back in action sometime right around the start of September. Tyler Wade will be the second baseman in his absence Monday against Boston.

Gio Urshela 3B | MIN
Yankees' Gio Urshela: Takes breather Monday
Urshela isn't in the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.
Urshela tallied hits and scored in each of the first three games of the team's series against Boston, but he'll take a seat for the final game Monday. Thairo Estrada will draw the start at the hot corner.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Tigers' Isaac Paredes: Gets first big-league callup
The Tigers selected Paredes' contract from their alternate training site Monday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Detroit called up three of their top prospects Monday, with starting pitchers Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize also making the jump from the alternate site. Skubal is slated to start Tuesday's game against the White Sox while Mize is scheduled to pitch Wednesday, so Paredes should be the first of the trio to debut, as general manager Al Avila said he expects the 21-year-old to be included in the lineup for Monday's series opener, per Chris McCosky of The Detroit News. Paredes is expected to see most of his action at third base or shortstop, where Willi Castro and Niko Goodrum, respectively, have been serving as Detroit's top options. Since Goodrum is day-to-day with a back injury, Castro could temporarily slide over to shortstop to open up reps at the hot corner for Paredes, who slashed .282/.368/.416 with 13 home runs, five stolen bases and a 57:61 BB:K over 552 plate appearances at Double-A Erie last season.

Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Astros' Abraham Toro: Fills in at DH
Toro was added to Sunday's lineup as the designated hitter after Yordan Alvarez (knee) was scratched. He went 0-for-3 with a run scored in a 3-2 win over the Mariners.
Toro has been an infrequent contributor for the Astros and would likely share the DH role with others if Alvarez misses significant time. Houston manager Dusty Baker was hopeful Alvarez can return to the lineup Monday against the Rockies, Richard Justice of MLB.com reports. Toro is slashing .148/.258/.296 over 31 plate appearances.
