Rangers' Josh Jung: Impressing at alternate site

Manager Chris Woodward said Tuesday that he expects Jung to reach the majors at some point in 2021, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Jung has spent the last three months at the Rangers' alternate site camp and will go to Arizona for the extended instructional league later this month. He has apparently impressed this summer, despite the unorthodox developmental structure. Jung was seen as a hit over power third baseman, but he worked on tapping into more pull power this summer. Isiah Kiner-Falefa has had a breakout year at third base, so if he keeps it up in 2021, Jung may move to first base if he does indeed debut in his age-23 season.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Yankees' Gio Urshela: Collects four hits

Urshela went 4-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI during Tuesday's 12-1 win over the Blue Jays.

The 28-year-old has two RBI in each of his past three games and registered his first four-hit game of the season. Urshela has a .308/.377/.519 slash line with six homers, 23 runs and 29 RBI through 38 games in 2020.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Launches walkoff blast

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the White Sox.

His one hit was as clutch as it gets. After Chicago broke open a 1-1 tie with two runs in the top of the 10th, Ramirez crushed a 98 mph fastball from Jose Ruiz to right-center field for a walkoff homer that clinched a playoff spot for his club. Ramirez has now gone yard in three straight games and has eight long balls in his last 11 contests, hitting .444 (20-for-45) over that blistering stretch with 18 RBI as he makes a late push for AL MVP consideration.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Recalled by Orioles

Urias was recalled by the Orioles on Tuesday.

Urias made appearances in five games during his time in the majors earlier this season and went 1-for-5 with a walk and a strikeout. He should resume a depth role in the middle infield over the final week of the regular season.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: On base four times

Donaldson went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Cubs.

Donaldson was good at getting on base, but he wasn't able to generate any runs himself. The 34-year-old has a .243/.380/.514 slash line after the productive outing. He's added six homers, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored in 25 games.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Two homers Sunday

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Tigers.

Ramirez is somewhat quietly having a monster year -- .284/.369/.574 with 15 home runs and 10 stolen bases. He has to be considered a candidate for the American League MVP, as well as a first-round lock for fantasy drafts next spring.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Yankees' Gio Urshela: Out of Sunday's lineup

Urshela is not in the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.

Urshela is on a five-game hit streak since being activated from the injured list Tuesday and is 7-for-21 with two doubles and two walks during that stretch, but he'll receive a breather Sunday. DJ LeMahieu will shift to third base while Tyler Wade covers the keystone.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: On bench Sunday

Moncada is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Yolmer Sanchez will take over at third base and bat ninth against right-hander Michael Lorenzen. Moncada had a triple in Saturday's game, ending a five-game hitless slide. The 25-year-old has a .192/.306/.269 line in the month of September; it seems he's still not feeling back to full strength after his bout with COVID-19 earlier this year.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: Homers as pinch hitter

Donaldson went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a victory over the Cubs on Saturday.

Donaldson wasn't in the starting lineup, but he came on as a pinch hitter with the bases loaded in the seventh inning. Though he hit into a fielder's choice in that at-bat, the slugger had a more successful result when he slammed a solo homer to right field in the ninth frame. Donaldson's is slashing .225/.356/.507 with six homers and 11 RBI on the season.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Indians' Jose Ramirez: Plates two in win

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with two RBI in a 5-2 loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Ramirez hit a two-run double off Spencer Turnbull in the third inning and ended up being responsible for the entirety of Cleveland's offensive production. Regardless of the lack of help, Ramirez is a blistering 13-for-30 over his past seven games.
