Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Astros' Isaac Paredes: Could return this weekend
Manager Joe Espada said Wednesday that Paredes (hamstring) is recovering well and will be re-evaluated in the next day or two to determine whether he'll be able to come off the injured list this weekend versus the Mariners, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
The third baseman has been on the shelf nearly two months due to a hamstring strain but appears to be closing in on his return from the injured list. Paredes could be eased back into things as the designated hitter, with Espada indicating that the 26-year-old will be asked to run less than full speed on the basepaths.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
Angels' Yoan Moncada: Still out Wednesday
Moncada (ankle) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Milwaukee.
Moncada was lifted from Sunday's contest versus the Mariners due to a left ankle injury and has now missed two straight starts. He's considered day-to-day for the time being. Luis Rengifo will play third base and bat leadoff for the Angels on Wednesday.

Brett Harris 3B | ATH
Athletics' Brett Harris: Making third straight start
Harris will start at third base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Harris will be included in the starting nine for the third contest in a row after going 5-for-7 with a double over his previous two games. The Athletics appear set to give Harris another look as their everyday third baseman, allowing Darell Hernaiz to shift over to second base in place of the slumping Zack Gelof, who will hit the bench for the third game in a row after striking out at a 36.4 percent clip since the beginning of September.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Contributes in win
Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 extra-inning win over Detroit.
Ramirez was part of a four-run 10th inning when he doubled and scored. The double was one of four consecutive extra-base hits in the frame. Earlier, he singled, stole a base and scored in the sixth. The double was his 30th, giving him a sixth straight season with at least 30 doubles, while the theft was his 39th. Cleveland's won five straight and moved within 2.5 games of the final wild-card spot.

Carter Kieboom 1B | LAA
Angels' Carter Kieboom: Up in big leagues
The Angels selected Kieboom's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake, and he's starting at first base and batting seventh Tuesday against the Brewers.
The 28-year-old inked a minor-league deal with the Angels in February and will receive a look in the majors with less than two weeks left in the regular season. Kieboom has an .817 OPS with nine homers and 11 steals in 93 contests with Salt Lake this year and is getting his first game action in the big leagues since 2023.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Activated from 10-day IL
The Orioles activated Westburg (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Westburg wound up missing nearly a month of action with a right ankle sprain but is ready to roll after playing three rehab contests with Triple-A Norfolk. The 26-year-old will retake his third-base job, with Jeremiah Jackson likely reverting to a utility role.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Goes yard Monday
Jung went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Astros.
This was Jung's first homer over 13 games in September, and he's batting just .184 (9-for-49) this month. The third baseman's blast tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth inning. Jung had six multi-hit efforts over his last eight contests in August, so the slowdown in September is discouraging. He's at a .251/.294/.394 slash line with 14 homers, 57 RBI, 48 runs scored and four stolen bases over 120 games this season.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Back with team, activation imminent
Westburg (ankle) joined the Orioles in Chicago on Monday and will be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Though the Orioles didn't reinstate him prior to Monday's series opener in Chicago, Westburg is likely just getting a day to rest after he went 2-for-5 with two home runs in his final rehab game for Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday. Assuming that the Orioles' medical staff is satisfied with the condition on his right ankle, Westburg will likely rejoin the lineup Tuesday. Westburg will presumably take over as the Orioles' everyday third baseman, resulting in Jeremiah Jackson moving into more of a utility role.
